NORMAL COURSE
7,794,420 - Icarus - Stage 6 - Strawman (A) / Silver Sword (B) / Miyamoto (C)
Stage Order: Sky High, Airport, Sewer

Dropped Medals about five times during the fight with Bashinet2, and once again at the start of the Highway. No Extend from the hovertank. All of that cost me huge points, and much needed Extends.
Tsumujimaru let me past quite quickly, to my surprise. No Hayatemaru this time around, had a near-fumble with Blunt, and still had Sobut to go had I beaten Envy. ;_;
So close to 8mil. A perfect run could even be 9mil, if I don't drop Medals.

btw my maximum wouldnt be over 8,5mill for sure so good luck on getting 9mill.i still cant destroy gob robos arms for 100k each or even black heart wings for that matter.ive missed a lot of things in my 7,8mill but the important bit for me was triggering every boss

Interestingly, getting two more Extends on this particular run (one from the 7.5mil score (I was 100k short by the time Blunt rolled in) and one from the hovertank) would give me Silver Sword and Miyamoto back - the credit was ended with Strawman active - which is the perfect setup for Advanced (Black Heart2!). Once I'm done with Normal Course, I'm putting my set up to the test. ^_-

On the 7.79mil run I started Highway with about 6.7mil, and finished off Tsumujimaru with 7.1mil on the counter. That's with no maximum Medals from the start of Bashinet2 onwards. I'm estimating that I can finish off Bashinet2 with around 7mil on the counter, and offing Tsumujimaru with 7.6mil on a perfect run. A lot will depend on what attacks they will select - the best scoring attack from Bashinet2 is obviously the missile spray, and Tsumujimaru has the nice and lucrative airmine dash (those mines are worth quite a bit), and calling his ninja squad, good for Medals.DEL wrote:Gonna be tight though, as my Highway entrance figure is curently less than that of Plasmo & Icarus.
Been at work all day today (literally) so not much play tonight from tiredness. Did put in a couple of experimental credits though, and happily set a new stage2 (Sky High) personal best of 2.5mil from a 1.2mil start. About 1mil taken from both Boredom and Bashinet combined. I have a theory on how to milk lots of points safely from Bashinet2, but need to put in a good run before I can test it. I'm also using a lot more aura and bombs throughout the stages, and lessening the use of Shot, to try and surpress the rank increases.

this was far from perfect.
in this run i didnt trigger bashinet.argh such an easy 500k bonus.and then i fucked it up again with bashinet mk2 because he didnt open his arms and i couldnt destroy him.in the end ive even failed to trigger hayate and then died at envy in the very last second.
so at least im the first with 8mill.
ill definitely keep on playing for a 9mill ALL maybe lol

Speaking of which, I've been messing around with Special Course tonight. I unlocked all 18 Stages
- Bashinet R, Glow Squid the works. I upped my Special Course Hi-Score a bit, but not enough to mention (on another ST10 credit).

Run ended by Bashinet-R. Can't remember if Glow Squid came next, although it wouldn't have mattered, as I dropped one of two Extends fighting Grubby (two dropped at once, the 4.5mil and the 6mil), and would have needed the 7.5mil Extend to get Grasshopper back. Medals dropped twice.

Icarus - I have a question:- On a Special Course A B C selection for all 18 stages, what are my option characters for replacing Miyamoto C? I figure Carpet C is one. What are the others?
Would it be possible for you to list all the characters by team-type, so that mix n'match A B C team selections can be made from that list?
This would be really helpful for all team runs on all courses.
For example, list all characters under three categories:
A characters=
B characters=
C characters=

ABC selection only applies to Normal and Advanced Course boss unlocking. You have more freedom in ship selection for Special Course, as you're guaranteed to unlock X boss as long as you have X character still alive in your team. So you can mix and match both ship selections and subtypes according to taste.
I'd recommend picking ships you feel comfortable with. You've probably noticed that in all my scores, I use ships that have good attacking strength and Shot/Option range, with wide-area bombs. That is because in Normal/Advanced, you're going on bombing runs and need to be able to cover all the screen at key points quickly, while in Special you just need Shot power with a good bomb to back yourself up in case of trouble. That should be basic knowledge to any Batrider player.
If you must know, however, there are better subtype selections for particular ships for all three courses. They are:
* Strawman, Maria - A or C type (C type if you desire attacking strength while sacrificing speed)
* Shorty - B type (beef those huge missiles up!)
* Silver Sword - A or B type
* Grasshopper - B type
* Flying Baron - B or C type (the ship moves pretty quickly, so you can sacrifice a bit of speed)
* Wild Snail - B type
* Bornnam - A or B type (huge Shot range for both A and B, excellent for milking all Garegga bosses)
* Chitta - B or C type (good speed but needs Option strengthening)
* Miyamoto - C type (sacrifice that insane speed for higher attacking power. Options have mild piercing ability too)
* Gain - B or C type (lose a bit of speed for higher attacking strength)
* Carpet - A type (Options are already quite strong, so increase Shot power)
Note that I haven't listed all the Batrider ships, as the others aren't worth using.
My current best score is the 6.7mil run (to Bashinet-R), but my best boss run is 15 bosses total (to Discharge), using my current setup of Bornnam (A) / Grasshopper (B) / Miyamoto (C), and is a lower 6.2mil score. Both runs missed out on Glow Squid.
As for actual ship order, I'm experimenting with both Mahou/Garegga/Mahou (for easy passage past the Rivals) and Mahou/Batrider/Garegga (for all 18 bosses). You do need a near-perfect run in the second half of Special Course, however, to unlock all 18 bosses. That and you need to make sure that you don't draw Envy if you are using the first configuration listed before, as it can make or break a good run.
Now, can someone tell me how to stop Bashinet2 from throwing those really annoying homing grenades? Every run in Normal and Special starts to go at around that point. -_-;;

Some extremely stupid deaths fighting Bashinet-R and Glow Squid, its a little wonder how the run wasn't ended earlier. Only one Rival obviously (Sobut) as I don't have a Batrider member in my team. All 16 possible bosses on the way with this configuration, maybe 8mil+ after the ALL. Medal chain maintained throughout the run.
Got a replay too.
