New world record scores for Don Pachi, Ibara and Raiden III
I checked out the latest Arcadia that came out yesterday in the hopes of Mushi Futari Ultra mode news (no luck), but noticed some improved scores to some popular games. I'm not sure if these are indeed the very highest, as Arcadia lists the best scores of the month that aren't necessarily WRs, but they're higher than what is listed on Gemant's Arcadia/Gamest high score archive page so I thought it might be of some interest to a few.
The Ibara and Raiden 3 scores are just a hair above previous WRs, but still impressive considering how maxed out those games seemed to be. Most incredible is SOF-WTN's DP score, which is a healthy 5 million above the previous high. There was no mention how far he got on one man or how many players he finished the game with, but it's nice to see the king of the 'Pachi's holding on to his title.
Don Pachi - 64.190.190
Ibara (normal) - 31.983.440
Raiden III (1P) - 18.890.930

Wow, nice to see a new DonPachi record
The other main strategy would be to start combos with a large enemy, and try to keep that combo going.
If you don't bomb, the capacity/end of stage bonus is very high in the second loop stages.landshark wrote:I'm really curious how people are getting > 30 million on DP. I'd love to see where they are picking up those super-combos.

What are the current WR scores for Raiden I & II PCBs?
What's the current highest World Record score for the Seibu Kaihatsu produced Raiden & Raiden II arcade Jamma PCBs?

Can you give an example of a full bomb bonus in the 2nd loop?Smraedis wrote:Wow, nice to see a new DonPachi record

I've seen 29 mil replays, and can't imagine a way to double that score.

If you can finish the level and haven't died yet and used less than three bombs you get a "capacity bonus" at the end of the level with value:
1-1: 100,000
1-2: 200,000
1-3: 400,000
1-4: 800,000
1-5: 2,000,000
2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4, 2-5: 5,000,000
To date no one has gotten the capacity bonus on 2-4 with the A/B ship. No one has gotten the capacity bonus on 2-3 with the C ship.
Here are scores for the end of each level that you should aim for if you want a world record with the A/B ships:
1-1 1.5M (the world record for level 1 is 1.87m)
1-2 5M
1-3 10M
1-4 16M
1-5 28M
2-1 35M
2-2 43M
2-3 50M
2-4 53M
2-5 60M
and the 1M bonus for each of your 3 remainings ships: 63M
1-1: 100,000
1-2: 200,000
1-3: 400,000
1-4: 800,000
1-5: 2,000,000
2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4, 2-5: 5,000,000

EDIT
Do you have info about chaining for every level? When chain starts, when ends, etc....zlk wrote: 1-1 1.5M (the world record for level 1 is 1.87m)

First loop will be enough for me. I will start to play on DonPachi until end this year (I want to double my score). Maybe I will found good chains too (I'm very weak chainer).SiKrAiKeN wrote:Give me until ~May or so, and I'll be able to give you an optimal score breakdown stage by stage, chain by chain, atleast for the first loop.

Try to get this chain down, it's worth quite a few points (it's for the beginning of 1-5):destructor wrote:First loop will be enough for me. Good luck doing that 1.65m combo with any kind of consistency.
Still, that is a very nice video.
If your goal is to score 50m, you really need only to score 20m at the end of the 1st loop. Just make sure you get the capacity bonus on 2-1,2-2, and 2-3. Getting the capacity bonus on 2-3 is very, very hard.
In the upper right corner of page 203 of this month's Arcadia are two paragraphs about the donpachi record. WTN used the "A" ship to get his record at the Daytona III arcade. It also says something about scoring 28.38m at the end of the 1st loop. It then says something about 30m at the end of the first loop. Perhaps someone who knows Japanese can translate what it says.
