Twin-Bee Da!! for Game Boy any different from original game?

Post by dave4shmups »

Just tried this one out for the original Game Boy, and loved it! But I then gave Famicom Twin Bee a go, and it seems pretty similar-are there any differences between the two?

The Famicom one is a port - the GB one, as the title change suggests, falls into the "reworking of the original" category. The stage layout is different, so it's technically an all-new episode.

Hmm - it lacks the third world entirely (the jetpack stages), and the sprites are really tiny. Lack of color doesn't help, of course.

If you really want one, pick up Universal Soldier for Game Boy. It's basically a port of Turrican II, and plays slightly better.

I suppose I could redirect you to that HG101 article of mine as well...
