It is worth the wait, because you need to have more than one life remaining during the later stages to trigger certain bosses such as Hayate. This means that you need the game to be easier (ideally), due to Normal course higher rank with more lives remaining.
Its tricky to trigger every single Boss, I haven't managed it yet. I figure that I would have triggered them all (including Hayate) on that Milan run, if I hadn't lost that life & medal chain on Colliseum
.
Anyway, best of luck.

Re: !
You need to be very careful with stage and ship planning to be able to trigger all the bosses along the way. On my 6.5mil Normal run I would have had every boss except Hayatemaru. I've been juggling a lot of ideas around in an attempt to find a system that'll work in both Normal and Advanced, most of which require a lot of scoring in the early stages to generate the correct amount of Extends.DEL wrote:Its tricky to trigger every single Boss, I haven't managed it yet. On a related note, I think the highest Strawman Only ALL for Normal Course is 7mil+. I've figured out a few new scoring tricks lately. ^_-

care to share? On a related note, I think the highest Strawman Only ALL for Normal Course is 7mil+. I've figured out a few new scoring tricks lately. ^_-
i need a bit more points cause im getting only 2mill after stage 2 (sky high) including the fight with bashinet...
milking boredom is tricky sometimes im way too uncosistent.
Will do eventually. They aren't related to Boredom however, but to Bazzcok and Deviate, and I need to get them down on video. Previously, I could hit about 6.5mil after all three Rivals if I really pushed, so a half million is quite handy, especially if it can be applied to Advanced Course.Plasmo wrote:care to share?

2mil after Bashinet is very good, at most I've had around 2.4mil. Also remember that I'm referring to a Strawman Only run when I mention the 7mil target, the score distribution will be much much different with a team as certain characters can score better than others (Car-Pet for example is great for fast boss killing, raising Medal values quickly and precision milking, but can lose a lot of points because of the piercing Option bullets). I've been experimenting with both Miyamoto and Bornnam in my team because of this.
There's still loads of points missing throughout the game that I haven't found out how to get consistently yet. For example, Conflict's back missile launchers, Boredom's rear drum turret, Bazzcok's wing hatches, the ten gun ports on each of Blunt's arms (they're worth 10k each!), and much much more.

NORMAL COURSE:
5,593,840 - Plasmo - Stage 6 - Strawman (A) / Carpet (C) / Flying Baron (B)
Triggered all secret bosses up to the highway stage.
how do i dodge these big green rings from bashinet mk2??this attack is really nasty and i lost my medal chain and at least two lives there...
is there something to destroy so that he wont shoot these anymore??a sweet spot maybe?

Plasmo - those green rings are the nastiest bit in Normal Course. Sometimes you don't get them, but when you do, its best to destroy the arms ASAP!!
No safe spots....whatsoever.
The best form of defense is attack, on the green rings. Damage the Boss Fast. Don't be afraid to use your bombs, you won't need any bombs for the next Boss Tsujumaru.
A.P.Batrider's Normal Course should not be underestimated when it comes to Hi-Score runs. There's a lot that can go wrong. (One of the reasons why the loss of my 7.161mil replay at the Milan Meet is sadly missed).

Icarus - Normal is about point squeezing & its still a fun challenge...are you worried that Plasmo's gonna blow you out the water?
I just had a go at Normal Course myself. I triggered every single Boss (for the 1st time ever). Unfortunately I died on envy with 2 full bombs remaining, dying as I materialized from a bomb
. 6,850,130 - I guess I still wouldn't have beaten my 7.161mil with the envy destruction.

Heheh, of course not. ^_-DEL wrote:Icarus - Normal is about point squeezing & its still a fun challenge...are you worried that Plasmo's gonna blow you out the water?
Normal is good for practicing with a team, but it is still only one piece of the overall puzzle. There's still so much we don't know about this game, and it'd be good for all active Batrider players to attack Advanced and try to find out as much as we possibly can. Lately it seems as if activity has slowed down, and there are only a couple of people working to uncover all the game's secrets. -_-;;
Besides, the main issue I have with Normal is that to point-squeeze the maximum amount from the stages, you have to employ different tactics to conventional Advanced Course techniques (such as picking up the two large Bomb icons in Airport in Normal, when usually you'd leave them in Advanced to get a Special Bomb Extend). Applying Normal Course tactics in this case doesn't always work, as you'd have to have a perfect set-up of stage order, ship order and Extend management just to be able to trigger all the secret bosses.
If I wasn't so exhausted lately, I'd be back in the mix. Tonight, maybe.

NORMAL COURSE:
6,119,690 - Plasmo - Stage 6 - Strawman (A) / Carpet (C) / Flying Baron (B)
that was a more or less perfect run for me: didnt break medal chain, triggered every boss and had 6mill after bashinet mk2.
Unfortunately i got nervous and lost ALL my extends at tsumaju.how is this even possible???
oh and btw how many points do you get from the highway stage alone?including both ninjas and all three rivals?im asking because im interested what my theoretical best would be...

1. No I won't have a DVD Recorder until after Christmas.
2. You prevent Blunt from combining all his later attacks at the same time by simply not destroying the two turrets in the middle near the beginning of the encounter ie. don't destroy both the turrets spitting out small blue lasers in a wide spread. Stop firing here. Destroy them when they reappear later and you won't get the combo-attack from Blunt. This also applies to all Advance Course runs.
3. I just got skanked! The two large turrets just before the end of Airport spit out bullets constantly if you don't get to the top of the screen immediately. I lost all 3 lives on a good run because of this
. I went to the top of the screen when I died and the large turrets kept spitting, regardless of proximity.

Well, I got skanked a couple more times. Going for the perfect Normal Course run is fraught with problems! It makes me appreciate that first credit at the Milan Meet all the more
. Both you and I will beat it Plasmo, but its just one of those things that you can't conjure up every time, or even half the time
.
Things to remember on a maximized Normal Course run:-
* Keep lives high & therefore rank (unlike Advance Course runs) so that you guarantee triggering both ninjas on ST6.
* Get Special power ups on at least 2 different stages, to ensure that you trigger Sobut and Envy at the end.
* Keep an eye on extends.
& about 50 other things
..

the prob with the ninjas is that youre not allowed to die during bashinet mk2 and the whole highway stage to keep your mahou charakter alive.survivng tsumaju with car-pet is a real pain
my suicide distribution is as follows:
stage 1: no miss
stage 2: lose strawman, get the 1,5mill extend(strawman back)
stage 3: lose car-pet, lose flying baron (at black heart) and get the 3mill extend(car-pet back)
stage 4: lose strawman get the 4,5mill extend (flying baron back)
colosseum: no miss
stage 5: no miss
maybe its better not to sacrifice strawman in stage 4 and fight bashinet mk2 with him
i still dont care about special extends yet but i guess its time to trigger them now in every run.
does it matter when you get the special power up?or with whom?can you die after getting it or do you have to fight the rivals with both special power ups actiavted? (please say no...)

No, its ok, special power ups don't have to be activated when you encounter the rivals. But I read in the strat that you do have to get the special power ups on different stages, in order to ensure that you trigger all 3 rivals.i still dont care about special extends yet but i guess its time to trigger them now in every run.

No. ^_-Plasmo wrote:does it matter when you get the special power up?or with whom?can you die after getting it or do you have to fight the rivals with both special power ups actiavted? (please say no...)
I've always found it easier to get both Special Option and Shot at the beginning of stage2 (Sky High). Getting them just alerts the game that they've been active before, allowing you to access the Rivals (as long as you have a Batrider character still alive).
EDIT: The most annoying thing in this game? Its when Bashinet2 doesn't open its arms. Had a nice little run ended because I couldn't even hit the weakpoint. >_<
EDIT2: Nice little session tonight. I've figured out how to get a guaranteed 1.2mil with a team from stage1 (1.3mil+ if I can destroy the two fireball turrets as well), and might have a good stage and team setup for scoring now. Last run was 6.1mil at the start of Highway (no Tsumujimaru), Medals dropped once at the start of Bashinet2 and rebuilt back to 5k... just need to refine some particular sections.

!
Of course, when you have a live replay in front of you
.
Looks like 8mil on the way Plasmo!

and this is dedicated to DEL, for giving me the idea to get a "perfect" normal course run.
NORMAL COURSE:
7,870,920 - Cowboy-NOA - Stage ALL - Strawman (A) / Carpet (C) / Flying Baron (B)
the last fight against envy was so intense my hands are still shaking.

triggered every single boss in this run.didnt break medal chain.
milking wasnt perfect so 8mill is definitely possible but im finally happy with this score.
if someone beats this ill be back if not ill move on to advanced: watch out Icarus!

(lol only 6 days...)
