I haven't bought any of these DVDs before, has this feature been included before? What is it, a blooper reel?GaijinPunch wrote:-Out takes
If so, that alone might make it worth buying.

Well, the outtakes for Mushi were explanations of C-ren, A+C-ren, a no-miss Shin Aki, etc. Out takes for the Ibara DVD is a Black Label 1CC. So, it just depends. Doesn't seem like much of anything this time though (so far anyway).

I got my copy of this yesterday.
The book is the same high quality we've seen with every prior INH DVD set: full colour, has stage and boss maps, enemies, artwork, concept sketches, techniques and interviews with MileStone.
The DVD features 3 primary replays (166 million in Arcade Mode with 1-2-3 Laser Speed 5) and 3 OutTake files (one of which is a quick preview video of Karous... although, it features video from an earlier LokeTest version). Sadly, commentary is only available for the Arcade Mode replay (and A.. must swear up a storm, cause numerous portions of commentary are bleeped out).
The CD features the original OST as well as the Manpuku/Okawari mode AST.
Things I found really interesting about the arcade replay:
The aggressive use of the shield, particularly in stages 1 and 2.
The point-blanking of the stage 4 sub-boss without the perma-shield power-up.
The item-juggling during the stage 2 boss battle (he times out the boss).
The regularity of executing the patterns to deal with the stage 5 boss attacks.

The stage 4 boss battle is particularly rife with censoring. Half the time all you hear is:Twiddle wrote: hahahah

resurrecting the first insanity DVD thread I see to ask this (not worth its own thread)
http://www.inhgroup.com/
See at the bottom on 2006.10.13 the garegga and RF 'disc' news? If you go to each page they have something about an OMAKE disc for each? Anyone care to enlighten me about these? Is it some new disc you can somehow get, or are they issuing 2nd printings with extra omake discs in them?

Oh sweet jesus, I don't want to have to buy the Garegga set again. >_<zakk wrote:See at the bottom on 2006.10.13 the garegga and RF 'disc' news? Quick blabberfish translation:
THE MADNESS BATTLE GAREGGA being defeated DISC
silver sawed (the shutter star) recording the score image which is higher than the main part which is used. The prayer of course "the DXP Yoshida house" person. Renovating also picture constitution, from "THE MADNESS BATTLE GAREGGA" evolved! !
Recording THE ONSLAUGHT RAIDEN FIGHTERS being defeated DISC
Leyden Fighters JET - 2 hundred million point breaking image. The luxurious specification which one newly, furthermore pattern relative image of main part image recorded picture constitution. The prayer also all the fuselage clearing achieved is "the JET God" "NER" person of course! !
Looks like the Garegga omake disc is an extra replay by DXP-Yoshidaya with a higher Silver Sword score than the one on the original DVD set. Also includes the screen layout redone to match the later Insanity DVD releases. It was done THE HISTORY OF X-MANIA past, to "the X-MANIA" 1st from 6th conference, and from outside transmission from image of not yet recording recording name game in the digest. By adding also the audio commentary "the EVO2K5" champion "ジャイアン" person, now here STARTING OVER! !
The RF omake disc is a 200mil+ RFJ replay by NER! O_O
Hmmm. Might have to pick these Omake discs up. A new higher scoring Silver Sword score sounds quite nice, and seeing the WR replay for RFJ is very tempting.
EDIT: Crap, apparently the Omake discs are being bundled with the new stock of Garegga and RF DVDs respectively. I can't find any info on INH's site about buying them seperately.

DEL and Icarus need to know
I e-mailed VGMWorld regarding the Omake discs, and if its possible to get them seperately. Hopefully they'll be able to find out if you can buy them.
If not, then I guess its YAJ time. ;_;

Rebumping this thread with some updated info on the Insanity Omake DVDs. Just got an email back from Kahori of Cocoebiz regarding the DVDs:
She might be able to get a hold of a limited amount of Omake DVDs for sale. This is probably going to be a "first come, first served, one time only" kind of thing, so if you're interested, keep an eye on Cocoebiz for more details (or email Kahori yourself and ask to get one kept back). I'm definitely going for the Garegga and Raiden Fighters Jet ones, so you can get behind me in the queue. ^_-Kahori wrote:Thank you for your reply and the info.
I rechecked it and read about the omake discs.
I've asked the publisher about these discs, and I can get some copies
but not sure how many I can get for now.
Since you are the questioner of this issue, I'll of course keep the
copies for you.
I'll update any news when I get more info of it.
Thanks again!
Kahori

Noted a few posts above: Garegga Omake is a higher scoring Silver Sword ALL by DXP-Yoshidaya, Raiden Fighters Jet is a 200mil+ ALL (close to or new WR?) with the Slave by NER. Both DVD replays have been done in the current style of replay video on the left side with score displays and commentary on the right side. (The original Insanity DVDs were very bare-bones with respect to visual design.)Kiken wrote:What is on the Omake DVDs? Bonus replays?
I would bet that there might be more Omake DVDs on the way for the other sets, too. The new Omake clips on the respective info sites at the INH website are probably taken from the Omake DVDs themselves.
Now to find some way of pestering INH to do a Batrider Insanity DVD. They should definitely grab LAOS by the scruff of the neck and get him to spill all his secrets regarding that insane 29mil Advanced Course WR. ^_-

How the hell did I miss all of that? :/
Well, I would be interested in obtaining the Battle Garegga Omake disc, if anything to keep my set complete.
