No, the source in this thread turned out to be in no way an official. We still have no idea what is happening (if at all) with this game.D wrote:So it will not be an arcade release then?
hmmmm.........
Blast Wind......
Seriously, there should be some sort of rule forbidding posting Project RS3 'news' unless the information is absolutely concrete.

I would really enjoy a new Treasure shooter. I think they make awesome games their just too creative for their own good. Shooters seem to be in the gutter right now. They really need a good shot in the arm like what Ikaruga did for them. Treasure is the only company who ever got my average gamer friends to even try out a shooter. They could at least do Sin & Punishment 2 or something if 2.5D (or whatever it's called) is banned now.

...am I missing something there? Besides the part I clipped out (to make it clearer). Personally, I think Microsoft's already had and set aside its period of unsuccessful period of Japanese development. Phantom Dust was nice and trippy (I even have a copy), but I doubt they want to go down that road again (Majesco had to pick it up for the domestic release, after all).gameoverDude wrote:Are Sony's...Japanese divisions becoming like SCEA? :(

Is it import friendly? What else would you recommend for the 360-J?SuperGrafx wrote:Why haven't you purchased Tenchu Senran?hermosaguy wrote:My Japanese 360 is starting to collect dust. With just Senko no Ronde, Bullet Witch and Chikyuu Boueigun 3, I'm going to need RS3 to keep me from selling it off.
Buy it now!

don't just get imports:Is it import friendly? What else would you recommend for the 360-J?
GOW
Splinter Cell
Lost Planet is out import wise
Project Sylpheed
Ridge Racer 6
Phantasy Star Universe
I guess it depends on what you like though... i have the ones mentioned above plus a few others
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Could you tell me more about Project Sylpheed? I am interested in this game. Is is playable with out working knowledge of the Japanese language? Thanks! (I've got Senko no Ronde and am currently in the process in getting a Japanese/Aisa 360)Strider77 wrote:don't just get imports:Is it import friendly? What else would you recommend for the 360-J?

I had played Project Sylpheed at the TGS and I was VERY disappointed in it. I really expected more from Squenix but I couldnt even pretend to like it. It also didn't feel like a Sylpheed game being in the cockpit, but thats my opinon of course.Sonic R wrote:Could you tell me more about Project Sylpheed? I am interested in this game. it's 3D flight shooter ect....
The 1st 2 levels I wasn't thrilled with but after that I got access to much better weapons and levels became way more varied. I also adjusted the controls to a scheme I found way more enjoyable.
There is some fumbling threw menus at 1st if you don't know japanese but I managed ok. I still haven't beat it yet though so i can't comment on it 100% till i do. But it's a pretty decent little title to me. I had to get the hang of it at 1st..... I died alot in the beginning but once i switched the controls around and figured out how the weapons ect worked I was fine. it's got some frame rate issues from time to time though, nothing horrendous...

interesting interview with Treasure president Masato Maegawa here.

1UP: So when will we finally see your 360 project?
MM: I can't talk much about it yet, but I will say that it's an original shooting title and that it won't be released for a while. I hope we can start showing and talking about it soon, though.
1UP: A lot of Treasure fans are wondering if the game will be in the style of Radiant Silvergun or Ikaruga. Can you comment on that?
MM: It's actually still early enough in the project that we don't yet know how similar it will be to those games. I'm thinking we'll probably want to go in a bit of a new direction now, though.
1UP: But it's at least still a top-down shooter, right?
MM: Yeah. We'll use really great 3D graphics but it will retain the 2D gameplay people love.
1UP: So is this the same team that did Ikaruga?
MM: Yes, the same director and team.
1UP: So would you consider it a new game in Radiant Silvergun "series"? Even though Ikaruga wasn't technically a sequel to Radiant Silvergun, it was the spiritual successor.
MM: I would say no, actually. I know what you mean about Ikaruga being a spiritual successor and I would have to say that this game is totally different.

Excellent news! 360 sale +1.
Found it funny that Maegawa commented Nintendo is "staggering out" the VC releases when "they could have 1,000 games on there tomorrow." S&P may be almost entirely in English but NOA is so dumb it'll most likely stay in Japan.

I wish this game would be region free but it's not very likely. Modding such a piece of shit is rather risky;( I hope MS will try harder and release some better versions of 360.
Anyways I agree with Dylan, non color based score system would be awesome(I love Ikaruga and RS but let's just progress). Treasure keeps on rolling so where are you Cave? ;/
