Capcom's CPS2 version Mars Matrix is super insane...
The original CPS2 version of Capcom/Takumi's Mars Matrix PCB is super insane to try to 1CC. The hundreds of bullets (with your name on them) that one will encounter have a better chance of nailing you when you at the very least expect it. Just try it by yourself and see how far you can get on a single credit. Mars Matrix's "bullet hell" cranked up to pure 1,000% insanity! ^_~

Mmmm don't agree. With a few months of training I managed to reach stage 6 several times and the last boss is not completely impossible.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:The original CPS2 version of Capcom/Takumi's Mars Matrix PCB is super insane to try to 1CC. BTW, to take 2 games I 1CC'd, I find Batsugun far harder to 1CC than Strikers 1945.

Of course, there's the built-in Mars Matrix Superplays in the Dreamcast revision/remix release to check out... ^_~
And Vincere, what were your scores upon reaching Stage 6 and final boss on Mars Matrix...was this on the original CPS2 hardware or DC GD-ROM version may I ask of you?

mars matrix isn't as hard as it looks, otherwise it would be impossible. pcefx, have you spent serious time with it?
still, i find it harder than gigawing 1 and much harder than gw2. but maybe the gw "flow" is more familiar for a caveist.
DOJ black label's 2 loops is easier than white label's 2ALL because of white's horrible end of 1st loop lives grab. and black's rank seems slightly higher than white's if at all, whereas DDP special is much much harder than DDP. just look at special's hibachi..

I think there are 2 loop clear vids of both Donpachi and Dodonpachi on super-play.co.uk.
I'll feel saddened if the DC version of Mars Matrix is easier, because I've been working on 1cc'ing it, am getting closer, and the game is NOT easy. I'm finding my progress in ESPGALUDA to be MUCH faster. I know, I know, Cave's easiest shooter, and I can definately see why, but it's still no walk in the park, at least not for a crappy shmupper like me.

Donpachi is not a very difficult game, I have a replay where I got to 2-4. There are a few all-clears up on MARP.thesuperkillerxxx wrote:I thought nobody had a Donpachi 2 loop clear.... ?

I think maybe you're thinking of zlk mentioning that no one has completed Donpachi on one life. 2-4 is the furthest anyone has made it on their first man due to the gnarly rank increase.thesuperkillerxxx wrote:I thought nobody had a Donpachi 2 loop clear.... ?
It occurred to me that Ibara isn't on there likely because it was too new when this list was posted. Also, we don't know how many people contributed to the making of the list, it's most likely from a forum. If Arcadia put out a big survey the results would likely be quite different.

Well, that's why it's at the bottom of the list. Every person I see play it at the arcade has 12 or so fighters in stock going into the later loops. Fun game though, too bad the rom is so jacked.Damocles wrote:This list makes no sense. Fire Barrel at #3? I'm one of the few people that have looped the game, but that's mostly because it's rather uncommon. The game is pretty easy and the loops really don't get harder. Come to think of it, even loops 3 and 4 don't get hard.

in donpachi if i remember correctly
I think he's just referring to the CPS version with it's one button control scheme. It's probably the same difficulty in terms of bullets and patterns and so forth, but the one button set up makes playing it a bit more difficult... come to think of it, the different speeds of tapping and rythm required makes me think of Mushi's button tap chaining system.chtimi-CLA wrote:mars matrix isn't as hard as it looks, otherwise it would be impossible. pcefx, have you spent serious time with it?

Except when you are trying to use that pulse cannon multiple times, and press too frequently and use the shot instead. It's pretty clever, but not perfect.FrederikJurk wrote:I have to say that the one-button Mars Matrix control scheme is one of the greatest inventions in shmup history. Seven buttons on three buttons in RSG is sweet, but four weapons on ONE button is even better.
"You are the Hero of Tomorrow!"
It's a clever idea and adds and extra layer of button tapping skill to the game, but it does make the game harder.FrederikJurk wrote:I have to say that the one-button Mars Matrix control scheme is one of the greatest inventions in shmup history. Re: Hardest 1CCs Ever
Anybody know of an updated list?
Re: Hardest 1CCs Ever
That list is such a mess! Empty slots, and stuff mashed together.
So, 2 stages of RSG is the same as 1cc Shiki? Yeah, okay..
New list! I have no idea where to start with this. Any takers?

Re: Hardest 1CCs Ever
There have been other, more recent threads for that IIRC; this one was top Japs or something who compiled a list of shit that was really hard for them to actually clear.`
Re: Hardest 1CCs Ever
Dodonpachi 1-loop harder than Mushi 1 maniac and Espgaluda?
What the hell am I reading????

The original Gradius is pretty damn easy - it's certainly easier than any of its sequels.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.
