Best SEGA console for shmups

All three are good, depending on your tastes in shmupping, of course, but overall I'd have to go with the Saturn, the first system I bought solely for the shmupping.

I buy all consoles solely for shmupping.

Notwithstanding the occasional fighter or oldschool platformer.

For me:
1 Saturn
2 Dreamcast
3 Megadrive

The Saturn just has sooo may great shmups. And although the Dreamcast doesn't have nearly as many, almost all of them are very good IMO. The Megadrive has some excellent titles too of course, but having the Thunderforce series all on Saturn (and with no slowdown) makes up for a big chunk of that.

Saturn has RS, DDP, Souky, Cotton 2, Parodiuses, Strikers 1945 I & II, Thunder Force V, Salamanders, Sengoku Blade.

Dreamcast has Mars Matrix, Ikaruga, Gunbird 2, Under Defeat, Border Down, Zero Gunner 2, Psyvariar 2, Shikigami no Shiro

I'd have to say Saturn(perhaps because of the sheer quantity available) But then again does the dreamcast have the quality over quantity?As a superior console hardware wise the eye candy appeal does seem to make it superior.
The megadrive still has some class shmups,some even piss on most saturn shooters .
Its all down to whatever floats your boat .Some like flashy visuals in their games,others the hardcore gameplay,lets just enjoy them all,faults an' all.
