The programmers probably just don't any action except from their videogames. It think takes 'em years to make games you know. It might just be some kind of imagery to move the story along. Maybe just sex sells. It's on TV all the time.

R-type Final is weird that way. Well, the R-9 has a "cockpit" that is kinda shaped like a glans and two "bits" as powerups that "jiggle" along as you fly about. Then there's the beam charge...

I never got the Western release, but I laughed when I found out that the Sexy Dynamite and Sexy Dynamite II ships are powered by "J-zyme".

(The pilots are even encapsulated by it or so in the description!?)

Then there's the Gomander/snatch thing (sp?) with the double-dong snakes going in and out of it with the egg thing.

Actually, Spec and I were hanging out on Halloween night playing R-Type Final on the PS2 and he mentioned that the first boss of the game looks like an uncircumcised penis. I hadn't realized it, but he's right.
