Cool shmup related items?
Aside from shmups games themselves, their OSTs and Superplay DVDs what are the coolest (like must have/must see) items relating to them?
I am talking about stuff like Metal Vic Viper models, R-type Final dog tags, Paper model sheets, Figurines, plush dolls, comics, films, mugs, etc.
They can be anything, even stuff coming with the game release itself (example: the paper craft sheets that came with Gradius Deluxe packs).
Personally I think those crystal Vic Vipers (the ones you could win in the Gradius V competition by Konami - and some of you have them I know) were very cool. But I am also a sucker for the plush parodius penguins (can't find a new, affordable one anywhere though).

This is weird, since this has come up twice recently (and not really mentioned since the contest). Yes.Super Laydock wrote:That's the Crystal Viper prize I was talking about. Absolutely beautiful!Galaxius wrote: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v627/ ... rystal.jpg

It was really cool and I kind of wish I hadn't (my eternal struggle about collecting useless, yet cool looking, stuff). And it was a trophy of sorts.

Hmm. Should I buy the Salamander cels, too?

Don't suppose anyone's got a girlfriend (or are female themselves) who are interested in cosplay?
Midi Rose - Pink Sweets version outfit on YAJ for 22,000Y. ( ̄▽ ̄)
I'd buy it just for the necktie.

I ROFL'd! (≧∇≦)CIT wrote:Excellent! This will go well with my Ibara knickers!
I'm surprised at how well made it looks as well. There are other, cheaper ones up on YAJ, but they all seem to be missing the necktie that is a key element of Midi's costume.LUNardei wrote:My girlfriend actually wants to get into cosplay. And this is one of the best costumes I've ever seen, very well made!
I'd kill for that tie actually, I'd go quite nicely with a business suit.
If only there was somewhere to get custom tie designs made.

While I don't think it would go with a business suit one way of doing this would be to cut a stencil and spray it with professional spray paint. It should look clean.Icarus wrote: I'd kill for that tie actually, I'd go quite nicely with a business suit.
