lol, take a bath in some holy water and join-up in about three confession sittings..that may get the stench of sin off...well..no it won't. Welcome to hell, son.

'Should probably throw in there that MLF1 has some gameplay issues like missing enemies, some don't shoot when they should, and 2 major bugs of a ship-turned-airship boss that doesn't fire till you blow its wings off and A table/tomb midboss near the final stage that is also supposed to shoot but does not. I did some comparing and ruled that an MLF1 port is unfit for use in Gunbird tournament play.

For a good laugh you should really find or scan-in the back sides to both game cases. The way they try to sell that game in-writing is classic.

MLF is the port ever!!......hurrrr!.... :P

I can feel your pain - I was this close to buying MLF2, but just couldn't muster up the dignity to get it. One can only think what it must be like to actually write about the game, actually admitting to the world that you owned or played this game...

While I agree with all the negative comments you made on that page, the fact that some of what you wrote is subjective rather than factual is likely to catch the eye of the mobile deletion force. I suggest you remove the words that make quality judgements (even though that ethnically diverse cover design is shockingly amateurish).

Daigohji has a good point, but:
Both are usually mocked by the fans of the original titles as complete bastardizations of two quality games.
That's a pretty true statement right there.

Yeah, while there is enough negative connotation, Wiki is at the end of the day street-level detail of everything in the world. Sure there's a more politically correct way of saying the three opinion-ish negative statements, but after rereading the whole thing, it could work as-is.

Hell, has anybody who has seen both versions of the same game ever praised the MLFs?

Gunbird and Shikigami were pretty... messy... localisations of the original games. Bugs, missing options, really bad voice acting and so on. The local version of Shikigami 2 at least tried to make up for that, but by then the damage was done.

Anyone who even remotely enjoyed these versions will at some point have resigned themselves to tracking down the far superior Japanese versions.

About the european PS2 release of Castle Shikigami 2.

Where the hell is all the dialogue? I was looking forward to hearing this legendarily bad dubbing but there were absolutely no voices or subtitles anywhere, even though in the menus there was a setting for voice volume or something.

Just to clarify things.

MLF = Gunbird
MLF2 = Shikigami no Shiro = Bad Dubbing
Castle Shikigami 2 = Shikigami no Shiro 2 = Bad Grammar in Dialogue Scenes, but no English whatsoever in Gameplay.
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

Thanks, but still: In the Euro version of Shiki2 there don't seem to be any dialogue scenes, textual, aural or anything. Sucks.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA, and I helped set it up by properly pointing out in that Gunbird was indeed released in the US as MLF. I suppose I should feel dirty as well.

WTF?! :P It was even worse than I expected, I mean.. wtf?? I would laugh my ass off if those samples were in a Parodius game but here those would ruin the game's atmosphere totally. Well, I did laugh while listening and thinking of how unsuspecting players must have felt when they played the game for the first time.

Thanks, Specineff :D
