They started developing the game.
They shopped the game to publishers.
Publishers want development for the DS, no longer the GBA (unless you're Dragon Balls, Mary Kate/Ashley, or a relative of the Belmonts).
They decide to finish the game anyway...it will eventually be available to everyone globally cause it will most likely be a free download.
Since that trailer they've made numerous eye-popping improvements, including a faster, beefier front shot...think Gate of Thunder!
I can say no more...you'll have to wait for the next trailer.
I'm about 3/5 done w/ the music...which did I mention kicks ass?
You will be able to play on your PC and/or download the ROM onto a "flash cart"...there are several kinds, but you'll want to get one that's at least 256 megs, cause that's the planned size of the game. And to answer your question, I'm sure a flash cart can be used in a GBA player for the cube.
There's this big GBA ROM download/development scene I didn't know about...I'm sticking w/ the opinion that the SNES and the backlit GBA are Nintendo's highest points, BTW.
I'm saying this now. Terra Galactica is going to be to the GBA what Radiant Silvergun was to the Saturn...what Border Down and Trizeal was to the DC.
Except it's going to be free! So, you may want to earmark a little X-Mas dough and find a good deal on a flash cart!
It's kind of like this:Just found the website for this: http://www.shadowsoft-games.com/diary/
So, is this download only, or will they actually be selling a cart of this game? Because I play GBA games on my Cube's Game Boy Player.

Hey guys, glad to see so many people still looking forward to new shooters on the horizon!
I think our admin for Shadowsoft Games is doing maintenance - it's been on and off all day. Should be fine soon, though - we're in the process of gearing up for a new trailer so check back often!
Edit: It's up for now.

Perhaps Konami will get the Gradius VI project for PS3 out of the mothballs now the specs and development hardware are available...
Gradius still is a franchise Konami cares for I believe.
I actually only a PS2 when Gradius V came out (it was THE game that made me decide I needed one). And I can only imagine myself getting a PS3 if a game like that comes out (Salamander 3 would make getting one a given).
Now, the first games I am looking out to getting are Raiden 3 and Homura for PS2 since I missed the boat on them before.
Also there's still so many games I've never owned or played that being bored while waiting for a new release isn't something that'll happen soon.
It gives you time to get quality time with your games instead of just hopping from one game to another.

Don't forget Last Hope. Pretty nice looking indie production in the style of R-Type and Pulstar. The very limited AES version is already out, the Dreamcast version was still scheduled for December as of the most recent update on the developers' website (September 19). http://blog.ngdevteam.com/ DC version is region free and supposedly doesn't require any sort of boot disc, etc.
I'm buying the DC version for sure, and it's nice to support the people who have put a lot of time into making a quality indie shmup and bringing it to consoles. They didn't even resort begging for sales like *some* indie devs (oh I kid, I actually like Trizeal a lot).
Don't forget that Konami is giving a strong lineup of ports of all their horizontal scrollers to the PSP. To go along with the Gradius collection we're getting Salamander Collection (with Xexex!), Parodius, and Twinbee. Yes, all of these series have had ports before. I own most of them on my Saturn. But there are some unreleased games (Xexex and apparently some unannounced title on the Salamander pack) and the Parodius and Twinbee collections have a very nice five games on each.

You're probably thinking of the, indeed VERY limited, Neo Geo AES release.JJG wrote:I could have sworn that Last Hope was going to be an extremely limited release with copies costing upwards of $1000. If that's the case then it's too much for me, if not then I'll pick it up.
That version is indeed being sold at a high price (550 Euro ~ $690).
The DC version is rumoured (!!!) to be about $35 which, if they make it as professionally looking as the AES version, is a nice price imho.
But then again I'll buy it anyway.

Well you all know, that we Americans don't know what to do with a game that doesn't involve a ball of some fashion or marching hundreds of units of a pointless 2 hour long mission. (When I was playing gradius)"What was that Space Invaders?". I just wish we would get some new shmups that arnt too mainstream.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Unfortunately dude, that is the nature of this industry. we shumpers have little or no say...not in the sense of great influence or change. Well, thats the way i see it.Pixel_Outlaw wrote:Well you all know, that we Americans don't know what to do with a game that doesn't involve a ball of some fashion or marching hundreds of units of a pointless 2 hour long mission. Well, technically there are... they just all happen to be budget re-releases.sideshow wrote:It just strange that there is no shmup announced for the PS2 in japan as of now.
It is a bit odd that we haven't seen more ports of Shiki 3 though. Alfa System normally flood the market with ports (Shiki 1 on X-Box, PS2 and PC; Shiki 2 on DC, GC, PS2, X-Box and PC). One would have expected them to announce a PS2 port by now.

We need a Twin Cobra 3. Instead of using a quick shot scoring system like that in Raiden III, keep it similar to TC 2 with the star items increasing in value.
Get going on this, Takumi.
I think we'll see other ports of SnS3, but just not until 2007. Taito will probably publish one for PS2. SnS3 does look better than the 2nd one, but it's not that much of a jump. It still may be doable on the current gen units. An Xbox 360 version wouldn't be too much of a surprise considering how fast the first one went to the original Xbox.

Not how I'd like to see their remaining life, assuming, used.gameoverDude wrote:We need a Twin Cobra 3. Instead of using a quick shot scoring system like that in Raiden III, keep it similar to TC 2 with the star items increasing in value.

I'd rather see Night Raid 2. And again, I'd rather have a(nother) Giga Wing sequel than a MM sequel. MM is really, really "complete." There's nothing to be added, and there's the arranged mode.

I hope Takumi isn't as good as dead. If they're indeed about to bite it, hand the franchise over to Moss- if they handled Raiden III decently, a TC3 from them shouldn't be too bad either.Rob wrote:Not how I'd like to see their remaining life, assuming, used.gameoverDude wrote:We need a Twin Cobra 3. I would just like a few more double packs on the PS2, with more of their shmups. Strikes 1999, and Strikers 1945+ would be nice, as would one with Space Bomber.Mills wrote:Anybody heard anything from Psyiko? not that can imagine them developing a Strikers2007 title. would like to see them develop another horizontal scrolling shump title.
