Although not a "modern" shooter, I saw a glitch in my Batrider PCB the other day. The copter on the right hand side of the SkyHigh stage boss stayed on the screen after all the others left, continually blowing up, and even stayed after the boss died. I forget exactly how it happened, I might have accidentally suicided into it or tried bombing them all when they started to retract...but first PCB bug like that I ever saw.Wanderer wrote:Would be cool if a glitch like eretsua's could be replicated due to bad code instead of a disc error.
Are there such glitches in any modern shooters?
Ibara glitch (ps2) [including pictures]

Speaking of Batrider glitches, my Korean B board sometimes has no large helicopter over the glass panels on Stage 1.Although not a "modern" shooter, I saw a glitch in my Batrider PCB the other day. That happened to me two or three times when I played Buttrider for the tournament. I was playing the japanes B version in MAME. Shoddy programming?DEL wrote:Speaking of Batrider glitches, my Korean B board sometimes has no large helicopter over the glass panels on Stage 1.

Yes, this has happened to me lots of times too. I just thought it was part of the game, like I didn't knock over the sign or score high enough to that point or something?Kaiser wrote:One time it happened to me in MAME i think it's random programming bug!Herr Schatten wrote:That happened to me two or three times when I played Buttrider for the tournament. I had this sort of thing happen heaps when I got the game. I blame my chip and the massive dummy file they threw on the disc. Any game that has a dummy file that makes the disc over 4 gigs won't read properly for me, so I always end up having to 'rebuild' the disc and play the backup.
Anyway if it happens again you can always chuck the disc in your pc, extract the files with iso buster and make a udf/iso dvd in nero (just drag and drop the discs files in the order they appear in iso buster) excluding the dummy file and it'll play just fine.
