Yes, yes, you're forgetting to praise me for 1 lifing Dangun, shame on you.LUNardei wrote:What Valgar and MMM are doing on Ketsui, the Donpachi 2-ALLs by zlk and Destructor, the counter stops by DEL and Mills, the 2-ALL on Strikers 1945 by Mills and so on... I'm forgetting something for sure.

Lol, I said I was forgetting somethingVenom wrote:Yes, yes, you're forgetting to praise me for 1 lifing Dangun, shame on you.I expect a guilt offering at the altar of 2 doves and an unblemished lamb, the aroma will calm my wrath.
Btw, since we are talking about that, how the true last boss works? Just out of curiosity

The true last boss is kind of a joke, it looks mean, and I'm guessing people freaked out and bombed it, then someone forgot to dodge and realized you're actually invincible unless you drop a bomb.LUNardei wrote:Btw, since we are talking about that, how the true last boss works? Seriously? None of them.professor ganson wrote:Icarus, is there a single shmupping accomplishment that you're most proud of? If so, I'd be interested to hear what it is. (Sorry if I missed an earlier post.)
All my records can be beaten, either by myself or by someone else here, so I don't make too much of a song and dance about it.

But only using Uo Poko or with every ship? Good to know, btw (time to watch again the superplay)Venom wrote: The true last boss is kind of a joke, it looks mean, and I'm guessing people freaked out and bombed it, then someone forgot to dodge and realized you're actually invincible unless you drop a bomb.

The Image Fight 1-ALL didn't take that long, if I remember correctly. It was selected as the shmupsIRC weekly compo game a long time ago and I took part, and picked up the no-miss in about three nights of play, and devised the stage7 milking technique (suicide at the boss, then milk the end checkpoint section up to the boss before suiciding again) within another day and a half.professor ganson wrote:Yeah, I was serious. Your work on Image Fight really impresses me; I've hardly gotten anywhere in that game. But probably there are things you've spent even more time on, so I was wondering if there was a particular accomplishment that really brought out your best.
FraGMarE won that one with a 2-ALL, 1mil+. I ended up with 720k at 2-2.
As for any particular achievements, I don't really have anything to mind that I'm truly proud of.

I'm concentrating on ALLing RF 2-loop on a cab, since i got that close to doing so. Problem is, when I die, my game goes to shit shortly afterwards because the game's tempo goes down and your mind is still in a high-tempo mode and you overcompensate, steering into a bullet. It's kind of hilarious how weak the 2nd loop is -- after the game tries to freak you out on the first two bosses on the second loop, all the game throws at you is faster and more frequent shots.
After I accomplish that as well as doing that well in an emulator and then capturing a replay in WolfMAME (a version that doesn't require you to do a fresh boot for every recording of an Seibu SPI game as well as lacks the date bug), I'm conflicted on whether I want to 2-loop RFJ or work on clearing Garegga.

300 M on Border Down, The equivalent of a counter-stop on Mars Matrix, not liking R-Type final*, doing my housemate and her best friend with both of them not knowing.

MM counter-stop isn't as RWcool as the Border Down score.Randorama wrote:300 M on Border Down, The equivalent of a counter-stop on Mars Matrix, not liking R-Type final*, doing my housemate and her best friend with both of them not knowing.

I've beaten Darius Gaiden and G. Darius through every possible route (or path). It took alot of memory and free-hand, but I did it. Nothing special happened, but I gave my self a pat on the back anyway. I felt like I achieved something great.
Another one would be me beating Mars Matrix on normal difficulty. You know how long it took me? Jesus christ!
