Best options for Dreamcast:
Either a Dreamcast Arcade Stick, or the Treamcast Pad which I desperately need myself.

I've been using one of these for a few years and it's much better than the original sega pad (better quality, lasts longer and is more comfortable):

Madcatz Dream Pad
http://www.gamequestdirect.com/728658571269.html

Features 6 buttons (L+R) on the top side, which makes it better for fightig games, as well. And it's even programmable.

PS. This belongs in the Hardware section.

That looks like a Saturn pad imitation. Does it have memory card slots and can you even buy it separately?

If you want to use a Saturn pad, you might as well buy a Total Control Plus converter and connect a real one.

Yes and Yes.

The memory card slot is actually on the end of the cord (right above the plug). I bought mine ages ago for around $20. They aren't bad... but they aren't as good as the Sega originals.

At least they should be good with the Capcom fighting games.

I use the Total Control Plus adapter to play with the PS2 Saturn pad:

Works really well, and doesn't have any lag.

Yes, that's a great setup. I use it too.

If you can find one, probably the best is the ascii pad. Next best would probably be the Total Control Plus w/Saturn pad.

i use a dc official arcade stick myself. if thats somehow unavailable i usually go with an innovation adapter w/ saturn pad or, more recently, innovation adapter w/ saturn Hori VF stick.

ps2 d-pads don't recognise small taps very well at all so aren't suited to this type of game imo :? but then it depends what you are used to so ignore me :)

i'd recommend a ps2 saturn pad too :)

the d-pad on a treamcast pad is nothing like a saturn pad, it's more like the mini joystick on a neogeo pocket.
