Need Help With Darius Gaiden (PC)

I bought Darius Gaiden wich was advertised to work with XP. On the disc it says windows 95/98. I can play the first level fine but when going to the second level I get an error message that says "Cannot read data file from cd-rom". Does anyone know how I can get it to work?

Chances are this won't do any good, but it's worth a shot: right-click on the .exe file, go to Properties, click the Compatibility tab, check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and change the drop-down box to either Windows 95 or Windows 98.

If that doesn't work, you might have to go with a Windows 95 emulator.

Thanks for the tip anyway. I tried but that didn't fix it. Why is it I can play the first stage perfectly but when it tries to go to the second stage it crashes & gives the error message?

Scratched/Damaged disk?
Does the game work if you copy it to the HD and launch from there?
