The Dragon Weapons

Post by Halloween Jack »

Hi Guys,

The good lady has just bought a copy of Cyvern as a birthday pressie :D - but won't allow me to install the mobo in the Egret until next week

Just wondered whether there were any fellow owners on these boards, and whether Malc's views on the title were shared by the masses??

Cheers

Icarus has a nice replay on super-play.co.uk, worth seeing. It reminds me very much of Raizing, and has nice graphics, but I never really got into it - maybe because I tried it after getting a bit sick of boss milking in Batrider. But it certainly deserves some attention! Oh, and grats on the PCB - I guess you gave her some "hints" on that, am I wrong?

Destructor on marp.retrogames.com has a nice ALL-clear too.

Its pretty good I think. Easily the best Super Nova shooter.

Its Raizing inspired in some ways but reminds me also of Raiden Fighers.

There are not so many secrets and not so much shrapnel though.

I like the rendered graphics except for the insects which are shit!

Good game, great level desing, nice score system, good difficulty level...

There's nothing wrong with it, I enjoyed while I played it.

I loved the stage 2 music. Between all the modern elements, it has some cool early-90ies feel to it, though I can`t exactly say why. The ship designs, maybe? Or the stage number font? My only gripe would be the quite annoying shot sound - really shrill. Ziup ziup ziup!

Great stuff.

It's a bit like a Raizing game, but you can see the bullets. :P

I honestly still found bullet visibility to be an issue...though I tend to be rather sensitive to that sort of thing.

I rather like Cyvern - it's difficult early on without being too punishing (though that 3rd stage starts to be killer), & it has a cool medal system.

All I can say is I'm pretty damn jealous, you lucky bastard.

It's probably my most wanted PCB....

Stick at it Tehkao, you'll get a copy dude :)

I've had it on the 'must have' list for some time too, so after endless hints to my girlfriend, finally I get to own the PCB.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post a couple of pics of the finished Egret installation, with CTDW running.

Cheers
