Suggestion for an addendum to the official rules: in the case of a tie in voting the winner is the game that more people can play (thanks to ports).
Btw, dragons are pretty damn cool.

Let's see if anyone here can get a 50% WR in one week, like you did with Batrider. :pIcarus wrote:The one thing that surprises me is reading comments from known Psikyo experts about the severe difficulty of Dragon Blaze.
Which is amusing given the high scores you guys have already put up for it. ^_-

38.1%, actually.oxtsu wrote:Let's see if anyone here can get a 50% WR in one week, like you did with Batrider. :p
For 50%-ish I would have needed an F,8xx,xxx score. ^_-
(Plus I was already competent with Batrider and Raizing in general, which gave me a headstart.)
I think one of the resident Psikyoheads can hit a 50% in DB or S1999 given a bit of time and incentive.

Point taken. Ok then, if anyone gets a 38.1% WR in one week's DB comp (and/or doubles their score that was near the top of the charts previously, similar to what you did with Batrider), I will be pleasantly surprised. :DIcarus wrote:38.1%, actually.oxtsu wrote:Let's see if anyone here can get a 50% WR in one week, like you did with Batrider. :p

Just a little shit talk before. My point is..Dragon Blaze = HARD. And blatantly fun, playing for score attack or survival.
I'm excited...it's looking like I'll finally be able to compete this week. :)

Ugh. I'm not looking forward to Psikyo week if it's DB. Great game, lots of scoring potential, but I think it may have been Dragon Blaze that lead me to a damaged knuckle and a cracked cabinet. I know it was a Psikyo game that lead me to send my TV through the back of my cabinet.Rob wrote:1.9 million?oxtsu wrote:doubles their score that was near the top of the charts previously,

SiKrAiKeN: While I don't think everyone here -is- a Ninja Turtle, I DO believe everyone here has the potential to be a Ninja Turtle. No doubt.

It's usually a sign of a good game if it can get me that riled up.Icarus wrote:And yet you still play them?landshark wrote:Ugh. I'm not looking forward to Psikyo week if it's DB. My first ever play session at Dragon Blaze (yesterday) ended at 260.000 or so. This game already feels like a beautiful nightmare.
While I enjoyed the Dragon Shot strategic use, I still dislike charge shots, and in this case there are even two to use... Also the choice of just four avatars disappoints a little - especially since I've heard very little praise about Sonia or Rob...
It's not like I had higher expectations though - I witnessed Psikyo going nuts already with Gunbird 2, so DB was likely to be even harder being released two years later. I suppose at least the gold coin system is better than the "grab while they shine" system.
Oh well, at least the PS2 port is much better than Taito's Gunbirds and the game really shines in the visual department. It's like a gorgeous update of Dragon Saber...
In the chance this game wins the poll, I'll need serious advice from teammates - my goal is to reach at least penultimate in the high score

I propose Rob and Nemo as the " disfunctional duo of shmups".
Maybe a sit-com on the groovy duo could even sell for a couple of seasons...
