The DC version will be mine. Oh yes. It will be mine! The soundtrack alone kicks ass!

A few thousand copies being printed, you say? Wow. You know they will sell super fast.

@ RHE, please let us know as soon as you start accepting pre-orders for the DC version. I mean, let us know in advance (like a week or so ahead of time :D). Thanks.

I'm interested in the DC version as well but I would like to know more about the game first. Will there be a demo released at all? I'd love it if maybe the team would dump the first level so I can see what the game plays like. Then I'd gladly drop the money for a DC one.

and on the issue of price- I think it's completely fair. It reminds me a lot of the portable PS2 and portable CDX systems I made. People would always ask me how much they would be to make and sell and I would tell them it's too damn expensive because they're hand made- I wouldn't do another CDX portable for under $1000.

This looks like a very professional project and manufacturing or making games on PCB's is no simple task. Especially on huge ass complicated boards that the Neo runs. It all makes sense if you look at the DC production price- you're paying for the one-of-a-kind homemade cart goody.

and I'm sure many people are shelling out the bucks for the cart...simply because AES collectors are friggin' nuts to begin with :P

It's sad because i was looking forward to this and i know i won't be able to afford one before they all sell out. :(

So my financial situation should be over in three weeks - just enough time for it to hit Ebay and cost a even more.

Umm.. holy shit 700 bucks?! Why are Neo-Geo games so expensive?
Does anyone have this yet?
Please, a review is in order.
I hope the dc version is more reasonably priced.

The DC version should be around the same price as the recently released shmups. I just want to know if there's going to be a LE version with an OST CD. That would be very cool.

I have high hopes for this game.

From the reviews i've read, its great looking and makes pulstar look easy.

I don't think many people consider it a fun game. Sounds like a nightmare

Well, until someone posts detailed impressions, or does a review, then I am withholding judgement.

Look like I would go for DC version too, for me is a poor cat and really don't have the money for shelling out for a AES cart...

Since the game are made for Neo-Geo, it means the DC version wouldn't got VGA support, right? IIRC I got problem connecting the DC RGB out to my TV... :?

All the homebrew stuff I run on my Dreamcast works just fine in VGA, don't see why this should be any different.

Any possibility at all of an MVS release of this ever?

Well VGA mode is only support for orginal DC games and Naomi ports. If the game is a port from a perform that doesn't support VGA, it's DC port usually also wouldn't support VGA. Example: Gunbird 2.

AES carts's EPROM could easily be swoop into a MVS cart. But since I know there are more AES mechines in the acrade now a days, you might actually found the game in the acrade (if acrade mode had been programed.) :o

An official MVS release would be costing more than an AES. MVS only cost less than AES in the 2nd hand market. :o

It's region free? Sounds good to me. But you know what that means, right? It's gonna sell out super fast, unless you preorder it.

Preorders for Last Hope on Dreamcast will start soon.

And to everyone who has interest in purchasing Last Hope on NEO·GEO: As this run is limited to only 60 copies, and just a few still available, you better should be quick. No worry, the Dreamcast version will be more affordable.

And what about NGCD? Wasn't that supposed to be released first?

As we don't have the publishing capabilities for releasing two versions at the same time we've decided to put out the Dreamcast first.

Are you an prospective customer or just curios?

Both items are hardly gettable in mint condition while Eproms are a little bit more spendable. The insert, manual and stickers for cart were all newly produced.

@ RHE:

being both a prospective customer and curious I have some questions I hope you are able to answer... :P

Since you obviously did a VERY nice job in making the AES game look like a professional release, will you do the same for the DC. Will it be released looking like a Japanese DC release, complete with spinecard and all?
I am asuming it will, considering the AES work... just asking.

Also, will buyers of the DC version get extras such as a DC version sticker and/or poster (as you did for the AES)? I'd personally love that and (again personally) would definitely pay extra for that.

And on the game itself. Is the code rewritten for Dreamcast from scratch, ported or (dare I ask) emulating the AES version?

I am very much looking forward to the game and hope you can (want) to answer these questions.

Thanks in advance. :)
