International Shooter Meet @ Milano (pics and more inside)

Post by LUNardei »

During the last weekend we've had the usual italian meet but with two international special guests: DEL & PLASMO! This thread is supposed to be a little summary of the meet and a showcase to some tasty stuff... Like some pics and videos!

First of all, here's a list of the partecipants:
- DEL
- PLASMO
- LUN
- NEV (house and games owner, THANKS!)
- JCK
- BR1
- RF2 (DGN)
- FONTAZ

Games played (huge thanks to NEV!):
- Mushihimesama (PCB/PS2)
- Ketsui (you know)
- Ibara (PCB, because the PS2 version showed a glitch t the third stage)
- PINK SWEETS (!)
- Progear (PCB/mame)
- Tatsujin (mame)
- Dangan Feveron (PCB)
- Dodonpachi (mame, IIRC)
- Dodonpachi DOJ (PS2)
- Shikigami no shiro 2 (PS2, extreme double plays with PLSM/LUN/JCK)
- Prehistoric isle 2 (mame)
- Third Strike (PS2, UGH!)
- Esp galuda II (PCB)
- Mars Matrix (mame)
- Whatever

We're preparing some videos for your pleasure. Here's what we want to show you in (let's hope) a short time:

- Batrider normal by DEL (full run)
- Batrider advanced by DEL (full run OR highlights video)
- IBARA by PLASMO (highlights video)
- PINK SWEET (credit feed full run)

Let's proceed with some pics, first of all. I'll give you no names, so the 'guessing names' thing can start NOW!

Yeah... I was going to ask who the fuck was who. I'd love to make a meet sometime. Loved Italy... would not have to twist my arm to go there. Of course, actually getting there is hard...especially from this fucking place.

Plasmo is the tall guy with the blue t-shirt and green pants. I don't know the rest of the people.

The Meeting was More than Great! - 4 days and nights that I didn't want to end.

PINK SWEETS - Thanks RF2, EspGaluda 2, Plasmo Rocking HARD, LUN chaining the Hell out of ULTRA  , Pizza Pasta Pepper Steaks, BR1 knocking DDP & DDP DOJ to pieces  and then turning round to me and saying; "I'm just an average player" -> HAHA! Yeah Right  ! NEV displaying blindingly fast skills on Mush Original and Feveron - Meeoow! Jck showing some mad techniques on Progear  . Raiden Fighters 2 smashing his way into the later stages of PINK SWEETS in just one day  ! & Thanks for the translations Fontaz!

etc....

PINK SWEETS was a complete Disco Party! I must buy it when the price falls below 1,300 Euros.

I thought you guys were leaning against the wall until I read "Egret II" on it! Nice to hear something positive about Pink Sweets. I still have to see a proper replay of it.

Great pics! Looks like a lot of fun. I'm also surprised by the positive comments on Pink Sweets. I'd expect that game to fall faster in price than Ibara.

I was thinking the same thing.

So jealous ... you guys have real cabinets, and real castles. Looks like a great time.

... and look how happy those guys look when the trip was finally over and they got back to their gaming machines! I especially like the sequence with the view going out of the window, night, day, and night again. The only two things that don`t make me envy you guys totally is that a) I suck playing with arcade sticks and b) I get headaches from playing so close to tube monitors. Did nobody make a movie of that or something? I remember watching a movie from a shmup meeting in Austria I guess, with a woman playing Parodius, and it also involved a dog.

Any more Pink Sweets reviews from some of the others that were new to the game?

Is the concensus that it is better than Ibara?!!

LOL at Ganstaz :D

About PS: I still prefer Ibara, for several reasons, including the general look of the game and the music (hell, the disco-disco sound track of PS is annoying  ). But the most important is that we don't really know the game system of PS. I'd wait for some info about that before saying something deeper ;)
