I guess I just don't take it seriously--which doesn't mean those guys don't take it seriously. On the other hand, how can one be too worried about this:
Graveland wrote:A thousand years of rule by this strange dogma; alien to our true Pagan culture and ideals. Judeo-christianity has not stood the test of time. Today, christianity collapses and rots like a decaying corpse. The true Pagan traditions and beliefs of Europe have thus survived. Christianity has failed to destroyed our ancestor’s beliefs and traditions. The Pagan spirit and identity is still alive within us. Pagan blood flows through our veins. Our true Gods have not forsaken us and their time for return is coming…We, Sons of Fire and Steel will go with Them to fight a mighty battle. The echoing sound of war horns will stir us to a heated fight. Many of us will die, but none of us will care because it is an honor to be born to fight and die in a battle. All else is indifferent to us as life is not a constant satisfaction of vain greed. Dark clouds of war, the flock of black ravens in the sky are the signs of the era of a trial and tribulation. Every honorable man brandishes his sword and shield and goes onward, driven by the echoes of war horns…The Gods’ deputy will show us the way... “
It's too bad they aren't comedians. I'm more afraid of dying from laughter than from their battle-axes.

Never heard that album but for my money, the vocals on Circle of Dead Children's Human Harvest are pretty much unbeatable.

Slayer - Reign in Blood

Yea, I pre-ordered it from Sanctuary with some deal for a limited edition T-shirt. To be honest, I saw it online and could not resist the download, so I have been "previewing" it and Maiden seem stuck in a little rut. Brave New World was an awesome return to form, Dance of Death was solid, and now this newest release is solid, as well. But, the proggier sound they now have is becoming a bit redundant and stale. Still, songs like These Colours Don't Run and Benjamin Breeg are still miles better than most other crap out there.

Has anybody gotten their hands on the new Blind Guardian record, A Twist in the Myth. Great record with the trademark huge Blind Guardian choruses, another fine work from Blind Guardian.

Well, I'm of the strange opinion that Dance of Death was not very good but Brave New World was excellent, so I really have no clue what I'll think about this new one other than I like the cover art a lot better. At this point though, it's maiden, sort of like old friends...

Yea, I agree with you, Brave New World was (and is) much better than Dance of Death. But DoD was still a very solid record.

I have been into Maiden since the first time I heard Powerslave, which was when I was about 11 years old back in 1985. And, since that time, my opinion of them tends to be biased. But, I will say, the Blaze Bailey era sucked and sucked more. Even if Sign of the Cross was a good tune.

Paul has a new solo record out. God, it's awful! He literally sounds like he is drinking, injecting and snorting while singing. I actually felt bad for him.

!T.O.O.H! - Řád a Trest/Order & Punishment
Reigning champ for weeks. It's been awhile since I've been able to listen to an album 3 times in a row day after day. U.S. release was in print for about 2 weeks, so you might want to pick it up if you like metal. Sure to be an eBay classic.

Anyone know anything about Wuthering Heights? I'm tempted to buy an album since it seems the musical style is supposed to be quite unique. But... lyrics about Hobbits and stuff.... I don't know.. :?

Lately, there's been way too many to list, but highlights include:

Slayer - Christ Illusion (surprisingly good)
Scientist - Scientific Dub
Mickey and The Soul Generation - Iron Leg - The Complete...
Ed Hall - Love Poke Here
DRI - Dealing With It
V/A - Dirtnap Across the Northwest (thanks Pa!)
The Valley - s/t (see above)
The Earaches/Jukebox Zeros - split 7" (ditto)

and that damn Pirates of Darkwater CD keeps finding it's way back into my player.

Thanks guys for the lack of input :P
So I've taken the liberty of a buy-before-you-try with their 3rd album just for you guys, and now I can be the one to warn you that it sucks ass. It's weird, but very boring.

However, I've had another successful try-before-you-buy with Fairyland - Fall of an Empire, some cheesy epic metal, but I liked the stuff I downloaded enough to go place an order on amazon. Some really cool high quality artworks in the booklet too.

Now I know PaCrappa's going to beat me up for that one. Fairies, WTF?!?!?
It was pretty embarrassing to go into HMV today asking if they had it

Expecting a huge order of Asian music to come in the next few days too.

Edit: LOL, it's "flower metal"... I'm not a nancy boy, I swear...

I would never listen to a band called Wuthering Heights. "Unique" could be a variety of horrible things. Hobbits :?

The album perfectly titled to describe Sunday playing APB:

Gorguts - The Erosion of Sanity

Also gave From Wisdom to Hate another listen. Still a lackluster followup to Obscura.

Ah yes. A personal fave. In fact I just burnt it onto a mix for MadSteel.

If they come to your town, when they play that song is when you wing an empty (or full) pitcher at Sean's head. That's what I did last time and gosh, it was cathartic. Then I almost got took out by an errant bottlerocket. Maybe bring safety glasses.

I'm mighty appreciative of that sir.

Dude, wasting beer is a sin. :)

Except for Lone Star. That was made for hurling...in more ways than one.

On the topic:

Saint Vitus - V
V/A - Pa's Mix
Sleep - Dopesmoker
Fuckemos - Airshow 2000
V/A - Radio Free Steve OST

It was empty, I swear it! I was just giving him the option in case they have Lone Star where he goes ;)

I'm still listening to that same Headcoatees album. It rules.
