Im in Tokyo at the moment and I am looking for the arcades with plenty of shmups, ive been in several arcades in shibuya/shinjuku/odaiba and akihabara and the most I have seen is 5 or so together and they were all shikigami 3/espgaluda 2/raiden 3 etc.
Anyone know where to find the likes of ikaruga/caves insect princess thingy/Dodonpachi DOJ?
or where there are 50 yen arcades, I heard something about "center gai" in shibuya on a forum but they didnt give directions.
any ideas?

In Akihabara, go to Hey! Amusement Tower. Here is a map. It's pretty much the best arcade for shooters in the world. It's on the main street, left side, you can't miss it.
In Shibuya, there's a 50 yen arcade on center gai (was this a post at TNL?). When you come out of the Hachiko exit of the station, there's a 4-way intersection. Cross the street diagonally, taking you to the starbucks (1F of the QFront building) Look to the little street on your left. That's center gai. I believe some dodgy Iranians still hang out a block or so before the game center. If you see some middle eastern people up to no good, you're in the right place (sorry if that sounds offensive. I guess the truth sometimes hurts). Anyways, look for the "50 Yen" sign on your left. Shooting games are on the 4th floor.
