ps1 strikers 1945 II pal

Post by sjewkestheloon »

posted here a few times but i'm pretty new so bear with me :)

been playing this and after getting a stick i've decided to practise and go for a 1cc before completing the game with infinate continues. kind of seems pointless to just blast through as i actually want a challenge.

so i've been playing with 1 cred and the default 3 ships. also been playing on normal (5) difficulty and my ass is getting moderately slapped...

so shall i crank it down to lower difficulty to go for a 1 cred and then slowely increase as i get better?

also a few general qs. does this loop? it says 1-1, 1-2, etc so i assume that it'll run through again. if so do i need to meet any criteria to make it loop?
also are the first levels random? they seem to stay in the same order until a few plays and then they change so wasn't sure if there was something in my playstyle which makes it change etc.

thanks for looking and any help would be appreciated

the game does loop, and the first stages (four?) are randomized. haven't 1CC anything myself, but good luck to you. :D
I have no sig whatsoever.

why would you put down the difficulty? you will have to relearn everything once you increase it, doesnt make sense. just leave it to defaults, its not like there's a prize and you're in a rush.

and psikyo games only loop at normal difficulty or higher in general, and they only loop once.
i think some also only look if you clear them on one credit, i know gunbird 2 dc does, not sure about this one.

Strikers 1945 II only loops on difficulty 5 and above, and only if you 1cc it.

Also, I believe there's an extra ending sequence before the 2nd loop if you do it, but I never managed to do it myself.

If you feel like carnking down the difficulty, go ahead... but just as it was said before, I'd recommend you to not do it. Just go for the full default options, and learn the game.

I could barely reach 1-3 in my first games, nowadays I always get to 1-6, and sometimes to 1-7.

Practice makes it perfect :)

well i can consistently get to 1-7 on easy now so going to play a few times on a couple of creds on normal mode so i know what's coming and don't get tempted to panic bomb and then it'll be a quest to 1cc it on difficulty five. i love it when you manage to get the extend point on a shmup :)

Make sure you're using that one bootdisc so you're playing in 60hz.

The one Raiden mentioned in another post. The game will be slower in 50hz as I believe the pal one is, so it's better to find that bootdisc via google, burn it, then play. Or just import the game.

well i just ordered a ps-x-change v2 and i'm expecting it to arrive tomorrow so heres hoping that's the one :)

it's never seemed paticularly slow to me but having never played the arcade i wouldn't notice. damn localisation.....

why do pal always get the bad deal? being an rpger i've missed out on some class releases due to pure laziness also. how hard could it be to release an american release in the uk?
