The Offical STGT 2k6 Prize Thread!

Post by Fighter17 »

I decided that me and a group of people are going to be giving out prizes throughout STGT 2k6!

Link:

http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?t=10414 (look for "Single Player Rankings.")

At the end of week six (Cave week), the first place player will pick one of three games.

Fighter17 First Place Prize List:

If you are first place at the end of Cave week!

Pick from one of three games:

Verytext JP Megadrive complete (Note: Next to it is Darius II, but the prize is withdrawed).

Image

Castle Shikigami 2 US PS2 Complete.

Image

Metal Gear Solid US PSX Complete first print run.

Image

When Cave Week is over and the final scores are added, I'll contact the first place winner for your prize. If you don't want the prize, then the prize will be up for graps again (by the process of random drawing).

The prize are not the best, I know, but you're getting the game for free damn it!

Note: Prizes are subject to change.

Super Laydock Drawing Special:

Super Laydock will draw a number before the gaming week (by a MSX computer program).

You guys play the game of the week.

Once the game of the week's scoreboard is finalize by Edge, me and Super Laydock will annouce the luckly number (and contact the winner).

If you have that luckly number as your rank on the finalize scoreboard of the game of the week, then you win the free game!

* You need to play the game of the week and have your score on the scoreboard to be in the draw.

* You may only win one game from Super Laydock.

This week's prize: Taito The Best: R-Type Final NTSC-J PS2 complete!

Image

Be praying that you'll be the luckly number by your rank once the gaming week ends!

Professor Ganson Retro and Psikyo prizes:

From Professor Ganson:

"OK, I have two prizes to offer, one for each of my favorite weeks:

1st place (individual score) Retro Week
1st place (individual score) Psikyo Week

prizes:
Metal Slug 4 & 5 (US PS2, like new, never played)
Dark Cloud 2 (US PS2, brand new, sealed)

Winner of Retro Week gets first pick; winner of Psikyo Week gets the remaining game."

Rob's Red Lantern Award:

When Cave week is over, Rob will be giving out Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth US N64 cartridge only to last place. If you just suck, then we'll feel sorry for you. ;)

* You must play in one of the gaming weeks, no zeros allow. And besides, you're not getting one of the best shmups around, so play more!

Image

Play hard folks, because you might win a free game out of this!

Cool! :)

Anyone else want to give out prizes? Maybe if we could fill up prizes up to the 50th ranked player, I could stand a chance to get a prize

:D

Very nice of you Fighter17... shame you can't give prizes to a whole team, it would make it nicer for the "team spirit competition" :)

I wish I could give you prices for people, but I think that would be impossible. :(

Nice folks. :D

Thanks a lot for your prize offerings. I'll add a link to the prize-thread on the Shooting Game Tournament 2006 thread. So, if you don't mind, Fighter17, you can be in charge for the prize section.

Again that's a very selfless action of you guys. I want to thank everyone offering prizes one more time. :)

EDIT:
Oh, another reccomandation for the prize sharing. For Super Laydock's lucky prize: How about choosing a random number for the rankings of current playing week, instead of the overall rankings. Because otherwise someone could win the prize without haven't played at all in this week. So to reward joining a week at least. :)

And a similiar idea I had about Rob's prize. Giving the red lantern to the player with the least points, BUT only from people that joined every game. Otherwise it might be that someone wins this prize because he signed up for the tournament but didn't join any of the playing weeks.

However these are just ideas and I thought it might encourage more people to actually play the games. But anyway this are your prizes so please feel free to choose any way you'd like to share these. :)

Much appreciated.

I like the Super Laydock idea but the Rob one I was thinking about the lowest scorer of the whole list of players (which is not a zero).

Actually that was the idea. Reading the explanaition in the main post again, I realise now it doesn't say just that. I contacted F17 and asked if he could change the conditions accoringly. :D

I am thankful for F17 to initiate this. :)
I had thought about something like this before, but wouldn't dare propose the idea... :?

Where...where did this come from?! Crazy.

My hat is off to you Fighter17.

props to ganson, Rob, and Laydock as well.

I'm curious. What would be something somebody would have 5-7 copies of that a whole team would like to win?

Another tournament week calls for another prize for randomly drawn postition. :D

And this weeks prize is a complete copy of Blazing Lazers for the Turbo Grafx 16. In other words the western version of Pc-Engine's GunHed.

It is, I believe, the version that was bundled with a system. There's another "version" out there with different packaging I believe so I include a picture of the meant game (pic was taken from someone's ebay auction as I still do not have a new well working digital camera :().

Image

The drawn # has been made known to F17 and Edge (for verification purposes).
They and I won't tell you the number so all you can and should do to win this prize is participate in this week of the tournament and hope you end at the place that was determined to win the game!

Good luck to all of you! :)

I've added one more prize:

Caravan Shooting Collection (SFC, loose cart in nice condition)

Perhaps I'll add another so there will be one for each of the remaining weeks.

A new playing week call for a new prize! :D

This weeks prize will be another shmup.

Silpheed: The Lost Planet (US) PS2, complete.

Image

The game is an acquired taste, but even if you don't like the game it's worth owning for the beautiful and shiny) coverart alone. :P

Again all you have to do is participate in this weeks game for the STGT and hope you'll finish at the drawn spot.

Good luck everyone!

Just a small note to say I am NOT around next week due to being on holiday.

This means the winner of this week draw's prize won't get contacted until about the beginning of the hidden gem week. Sorry for that but I likely won't have acces to internet (nor do I want to btw ;)) where I am going.

I've asked Fighter 17 to announce the winner of the draw for the Psikyo week. So please check here to see if you've won! :D

Also the prize for the "Hidden gem" week will be made public either on monday or tuesday of that week due to the same reasons!
