Not sure if they run full speed, or have these games on their compatibility list, but did you know you could use your Dreamcast or, probably better due to rough power, Xbox to run dedicated Mame versions and play arcade only games on a console...professor ganson wrote:Just a question of clarification: These are NOT available for consoles, right? I won't complain, because Edge is <otherwise> doing a tremendous job.
You wouldn't have to use your work pc in that case and still be able to join in...

Yeah, the tournament will start after I post the official voting results, which should happen a little bit after the 11:59 GMT, provided we don't have a neck-'n-neck situation. I'll post here when the voting ends...probably realistically being 5-somthin' minutes after.
...just don't have a score ready at 12:24am, ya know? Gotta allow time for that Week 2 hi-score thread to be created and such.
The only reason I threw the 40 vote rule in place was because this vote was banking on the fact that everybody in the tourney would be able to log in and vote within a timed window of a single day. I didn't know if we could pull that off or not. We didn't need to have complaints of a touney starting where only say, 25 people found the time to vote and 70-something people were forced to just go along with it only because the didn't happen to get in front of a computer during Sunday.
As over 50% have voted, I see no real reason for there to be an issue.
Have fun watchin' that clock

all cool and stuff, but there's still no competition as for what game we'll play...DJ Incompetent wrote:http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

A little tip for players in case Batrider wins:
Do not start the game right away after bootup. Wait for one or two hours at full throttle (F10 in MAME) to make sure you've minimized the starting rank before inserting a credit. You can save a state at the title screen, as the only thing that really gets saved at this point is the starting rank.
This isn't very crucial for Normal Course, but this will make your Advanced Course play a lot easier.

lol, have fun dudes. I'm expecting my absent teammates to step up this round.Twiddle wrote:Do not start the game right away after bootup. BTW, I found savestates to not work with this game. Resulted in severe glitches/frozen game.

For the first 15 minutes after starting the game you might want to avoid shooting at your enemy as well. The enemy might just get pissed off and shoot back at you!Twiddle wrote:A little tip for players in case Batrider wins:
