Its the end of the deadline. Good job everyone! Great scores coming in.
I haven't been playing well at all last two nights. Could have easily passed the 45mil mark but couldn't concentrate at all last night and fumbled all my credits - all of them at the start of the large red battleship in stage6 with 29mil+. ;_;

In any rate, I did say that I'd release the 43.8mil ALL replay as proof at the playing week's deadline.

--> WolfMAME+ v0.106
--> Player: Icarus // Blazing Star, 43.8mil ALL, using Windina (WolfMAME input file)

I'll probably play a bit more and see if I can pass my target.

There's still 30 minutes left!! Or am I thinking BST?

Well dunno if it's going to count but I thought we had till 12 today and it's only 11.30 on my clock so here's trying!

Leeram - Underdogs - 14,860,510 - 5 - Windina - MVS - No Autofire

Crossing my fingers!

Pathetically small increase, but as the game didn't save my last score.. :x

elbarto - namakoteam - 14,654,680 - Stage 5 - Windina - MAME

I'm done, time to play something more fun.

Please_check_the_first_post_to_see_the_final_results. :)

Well, I think this week was a lot of fun and I am_happy_to_see_that_72_players_have_submitted_scores. (I was kinda afraid that lots of player sign up, but wouldn't play at all).

I am just a bit dissapointed, I couldn't beat my score from thursday and need to buy a new keyboard now. :P

And we had an overall friendly and relatively positive tone in it. (moaning about the game is inevitable.). So let's keep this spirit in the next weeks. :)

I'll open a new thread soon for the team and player rankings. ;)

EDIT:

Well, my first ending post was made on 11:56am GMT. So, according to the forum time people still had 4 minutes. But these are already over. as it is around 12:12pm now.

It's 11:17 GMT right now. The problem is I believe you are under daylight savings time, so your time is GMT+ 1 hour.

For ease of checking, the forum is on GMT. You can check the current time by viewing the front page.

I can't even bring myself to play for another 40 minutes. The worst part is a few hours ago I switched to Windina on a whim and it's clear I should have picked that ship from the beginning. Oops.

You guys...seem right, but I switched my setting to GMT, over here (GMT+1) it is 13:29.

I checked the timezones on windows, though... seems like there are two different GMTs...??

Yeah, I started with the Aryu as well, and was scoring very well up until the third boss. After constant failing on milking the third boss (probably about 1-in-20 credits I'd actually do it properly) I switched to Windina and had more success.

Aryu is good if you can get past particular problem areas.

Yeah, the third boss is what got me. It was getting rid of that tail at the start. I'd either get hit by a purple laser, or I'd back into the stream of red discs. Over and over. It was about like you said, every 20 or so games I'd not mess that part up, and then I'd manage ok. Stupidly I just attributed it to my general lack of consistency issues. That part really is much easier with Windina.

Oh well. Guess I'll encode my crappy 13.5M run and put it up on my site. Good thing I named it what I did...

GameOver at Stage 3 again.... Lost 2 lifes in Stage 2.... BS is doing this on purpose to me... -_-

I am confused about the GMT?
Since on the forum time we have already passed 11:59am. According to the site linked by zakk, it is in 10 minutes...??

These are the timezones, Ican select from myPC:

So which is the "real" GMT?? :?:

Dublin, Edinbough, Lissabon London
or
Casablanca,Monrovia

Well not that is matters now anymore, but for thenext week.

I think we can safely disregard Moronovia Crapalanca. If you take a look, you'll see that there's a whole bunch of GMT+1, +2 and +3 as well. Don't worry about it. The forum says it's 11:56am now, so the contest should be over in four minutes.

GMT is GMT. The problem is that the UK is not in GMT. So it's now 12:56 on my windows clock, but it's only 11:56 GMT. That's because even if you set the time to GMT in the UK it advances an hour for daylight savings and becomes British Summertime.

We are 1 hour in front of GMT so the board is correct.

or somat!

Cheers

Ahhh, got it from Wikipedia and that GMT site:

"Clocks Change: Spring Forward & Fall Back (Fall = Autumn)
BUT GMT remains the same all year around."

So, the week closes right now. :D

EDIT:
I go and buy a new keyboard. Will post the team rankings when I amback.

That damn tail was pretty much a roll of the dice in my case. I just dove in head-first and mashed the living shit out of the fire button, hoping for the bast. Believe it or not, that worked half the time. Otherwise I'd just die, maim that thing during the invincibility window, and settle for x80 multipliers on the red discs. One of the more annoying sections of the game.

That coupled with the almost guaranteed death (or two) during Stage 6 and...yeah. Hair pulling outing.

My only regret is that I mistakenly killed off that turret at the Stage 6 boss that dispenses the shitloads of bombs. Had I kept that intact for just enough cycles to time out the boss, I could have broken 40 million.

That's a goal for another time, I guess.

Great showing, Team Old Schoolers!

I apologize for only putting in a paltry six-seven hours into the game. I'd hoped to put in four + on Saturday and a similar amount on Sunday, but I made the mistake of getting hammered beyond belief on Friday night. I spent most of Saturday experiencing misery and unconsciousness.

I played an hour and a half on Sunday before I decided that there was little chance of me improving my score to the point that I'd actually contribute to team performance.

I think I could had improved my score a little, but I had other stuff to do in the weekend (work to do and spend some nice time with my girlfriend :D), so I didn't even touch the game this weekend.

Well, I am satisfied with my final result :) , Congrats to our team, I think we did it very well.

Coffeejoerx also asked me to say congratulatios to our team :)

Arghhh, I was about to post the rankings. But when I double checked I noticed that I accidently had listed shiftace twice. The Single Player Ranking point value depend on the number of player's participate, I'll explain it later. This mistake will take me about 30 minutes to fix... -_-''

hi i'm new here!
i play blazing star on my MVS neo geo arcade system.
i was looking for hiscores so i found this forum.

one -obvious- question. how do you know that no one is simply putting the numbers for the "screenshots" with photoshop?!?

don't understand...

i have looked at many screenshots is it true that the highest score in this forum is about 6mil?

i made some photos of the highscore screens of my system:
