So start playing Garegga then. ^_-

Thats the key point. Your assumption would be correct if Garegga was the selected game - and I can almost imagine the amount of people screaming for help or flooding the ST guide - but since the likes of Bakraid, Batrider and Great Mahou have relatively tame rank systems in comparison, I'd expect them to get selected over it.

Then again, I doubt Bakraid would be selected anyway, since the multiplier chaining system is very unintuitive, and its virtually impossible to score decently in Great Mahou for the items system in place. ^_-

I wouldn't mind a week of plain and simple Mahou Daisakusen, however. That would be fun.

Seriously, Gemant is a great loss for the competition. I'll try to push him to play again when and if he'll be able to do it again!

I didn't believe more than 30 people will vote on Blazing Star out of more than just name recognition (as Sexy Parodius had the advantage there).

Then again, we have neo-geo.com forum members here but it's funny that they'd care about what goes on in the chat forums

Edge, private vote please so we get Garegga or Batrider next week

It's my third favorite Raizing game, but I wouldn't vote for that.

If you're saying that random people voted BS because it's a NG game well, I can agree ;)

Icarus: seems I voted for you. But next time I won't do the hard work for you, so hurry up

Yeah, my favourite shooter was one of the choices (Darius Gaiden) and my least favourite shooter was on the list too (Blazing Star), of course I'd vote for BS! :D

Alright, so I guess I went back on my word and played just a little more Blazing Star. Since there's no time left anyway, this is my real final score.

Galdur - Team Canada - 24,145,140 - 6 - Windina - (MAME)

Also, I feel like a jerk for being so negative throughout this entire round. Everyone stuck it out, and those that didn't enjoy the game still put forth a commendable effort. So to counter my negativity, I'd like to congratulate everyone on their efforts - thanks for a fun round in the end despite the aggravation. :)

A minor score improvement (managed to milk the final boss a little more), but it's an improvement...

Update of questionable import:

shiftace - Team Loser - 3,540,240 - 3 - Aryustailm - (MAME)

And then, I credit fed it, just to see; should have done that last Sunday. Well, stage 6 looks pretty painful. As for hating the game, it's a sincere feeling, but it's not all the game's fault. Flickering is definitely the game's fault; weird scoring mechanics, maybe; and memorization, mostly mine. But they're all frustrating, especially when trying hard for a week. I don't plan to play it again.

It's in that small green bunker at the pre-boss fight (where the boss is mounted in the wall). You have to wait about thirty seconds before the train of green ships comes out to give you the "Y", all while avoiding enemies, bullets and trying not to destroy the boss too soon.

Might update if time's not up, but what I really want is to not play shooters ever again at this point. Thanks to jpj for the angel bonus info, DW and Zig for playing.

Died at the final boss, so no ALL for me. Weird how the game still counts clearing stage 6 as an all-clear.

Oh wow, you absolutely annihilated my score!

I'm one of those negative people. The vitriol was flowing constantly on #shmups, and I was no small contributer. I hate the friggin' game and never want to see it again. That said, it was still fun to practice and compete thanks to all of the other people that were doing the same thing.

Now I can only hope that Garegga isn't the next game. I hate that game too. Or rather, I hate playing that game for score. Garegga is awesome if you totally ignore rank control and scoring and just go nuts blowing stuff up.
bVork it up!
