Storm Blade emulation problem...

Post by JBC »

Ahh... Visco. I loved those guys. 8)

*ahem* Anyway, on to the thread. I'm encountering some confusion when it comes to Storm Blade's current status in MAME. I've seen a few posts where shmuppers were advised to play the game this way but even with the newest MAME32 (107) i still get this strange yellow glitch on the left hand side of the screen beginning with stage 3.

Is anyone else having this same problem? Mine has been this way since the first 106 release and i've even redownloaded the rom from many different sources.

Aside from all that i just really wanted to bring the game up again. I spent a good chunk of my funds in that box lo those many years ago. The machine in my arcade was set to hard so i never encountered the over-easiness alot of people complain about.

I just really love the graphics and the way the game feels - the controls are really nice. It's also cool to see a game that so many other companies took inspiration from.

There's nothing you can do to fix the background problems.....just gotta wait until emulation gets better. As for the game itself, I found it enjoyable. Generic, but enjoyable.

Odd, i noticed last night that in the third loop of the attract mode it displays the jungle stage just fine...

I always thought most attract modes 'read' the stage in the same way the game would if you were actually on the level.
