How's PS2 Barbarian??....

Well, I have my US PSTwo now, and I've been curious for quite a while about the game Barbarian. Supposedly it's based on this game:

but, from what I've read, PS2 Barbarian is just a VS. fighting game. Is that it; or is there more to the gameplay? I would think there would be, since it is part of the Rastan series.

It is awful. In fact, Titus went out of business and this game was proof they should have.

I wasn't looking forward to Barbarian to begin with and I would not be surprised if it is as bad as you say it is. Barbarian wasn't originally a Rastan game. It's shameful that Taito turned it into one. However, I still would like to hear why it's awful.

I haven't played that arcade game, but, as far as I know, Barbarian is a completely different game. If I remember correctly, it was even planned to come out for Xbox and GCN.

Titus has not gone out of business; they have several GBA ports planned for this year alone.

And I'd still like to hear what's so horrible about Barbarian. If people on this site are going to say a game's "horrible" or that it "sucks", or some other such thing, then they need to be more specific.

Try to go to their website, Dave. You cannot, it is offline. GamesTM reported them closed in their last issue, and with games like Barbarian and Superman 64, it is not hard to imagine why. Hopefully Kao The Kangaroo will live on!

Kao wasn't originally developed by them, so unless they had all the rights, it will live on.

Well, why don't you search all over the web? I'm sure there are people who get paid to examine these games have posted their impressions and why the game sucks. And if they are halfway decent, they'll be fair in their evaluation of the game.

Titus made Qwik, The Blues Brothers, Titus the Fox, Crazy Cars 3 and Lamborghini American Challenge, all for Amiga (Some of those on PC too), and they are very good games.

For me it's always sad to see a company from the old days going bust.

Besides the "fox" and Blues Brothers games Titus never released any good quality game! I am surprised thy survived this long!

Remember they are the one responseble for atrocities like Superman 64, Fire and Forget and Top Gun...
