YES! I've been hoping that this one would get a "Best" release, so I could get it at a better price...come November I'll have to pick this up. :)

And I'd like to add as an alternative, the PAL version can be bought for 24 euros. (play.com)

Quick update: YesAsia now has this listed at about ten bucks cheaper than P-A does, and shipping's free...I couldn't resist, and pre-ordered.

Yep, I got the PAL version of Homura from Play.com a few days ago and I really like it. The bullet patterns look really good too.

Ignoring all the oft-mentioned "issues" with MAME, we can't play Homura on there even if we want to, as it's too new to be added for quite some time, if ever. And honestly, 25 bucks is hardly a king's ransom.

Quoted for truth. Easily the developer's (Skonec?) best over all effort even if the graphics leave a little to be desired. I paid full price and didn't regret it a bit.

For what's its worth, a budget-minded Twinkle Star Sprites will be released the week before for the PS2. I plan to pick it up with Homura, likely from NCSX.
Bought from (via Paypal):

Already been noted in here. YesAsia also has LPP's budget release up for preorder for the same price as Homura's.

If you haven't got the original full price release, don't hold back now. It's a steal for $25.

MAME handling Type X? That's impossible anyhow, with it having a fairly recent generation x86 for a CPU.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Geeze I wished they delivered to Australia

I can't find Homura anywhere over here.

I love Homura and the Psyvariar series. Does anybody know if Skonec is developing any other shmups in the future?

Well, on a whim I just used my Play-Asia coupon to pre-order both games for the PS2, even though I have not yet played either game. I saw Homura at the Hey game center Akihabara, but I didn't play it. All I remember of the game were the colors. I don't remember the gameplay at all. I love the original Twinkle Star Sprites on the Dreamcast though. I hope I won't be disappointed with either game.

Like to know my prediction is right. :)

Appearately it is a Taito's business strategy, that they would make price cut to their games (by mean of releasing the Best Version) which had been published for a certain time.

I think many game companies would keep printing more of a game once their stocks had sold out. That's where those new copies of DDP DOJ & Espgaluda came from. IIRC, those games had been out of stock for several times. :o

Apperately G.Rev only printed a limited run of Border Down & Under Defeat; well who would still buying new DC games besides diehards like us.

Other companies would only release best version for game which sell pretty well.

If you predict this one correctly, then we can hope for an El Cheapo version of Raiden III...fellow cheapskates, keep your fingers crossed!

I wonder which Raiden 3 will be the first released - JPN Best version or the US version (What's taking so long, anyway? Are they converting it to MLF 3 or something?)?
