Elvis: How about a pic of your setup? I've debated the arcade monitor route. Just wondered of the hassle of getting the consoles to work on it. the other thing that worried me is that it seems that most homebrew wooden casings don't cover it up totally. Seems dangerous if you had kids around.
Does this thing have SCART input? Does anyone else notice that import shops that list multi-system TVs don't list the SCART inputs? I'm wondering if they're export models and really don't have them, or the retailers are just lazy.
No SCART in NA. The RGB input on Sony PVM monitors use a DB-25 connector. You'll need to custom make the cables yourself. Or ask Matt
Matt's pretty busy these days. You'll likely not get anything anytime soon. My PS2 cable is acting funky, and am (presumably) on the waiting list for another one. Not dying for it, so I've not been too pushy.

I've been meaning to document mine for ages. I built my first MAME cab and did a documentation website for it. Then I did the scratchbuilt cocktail cab and the JAMMA conversion, and haven't documented either yet thanks to a busy work schedule. I get a lot of questions about it, so I need to get off my arse and do it.
I have small kids also (one 5 and one 6 months), and my wiring is not neat nor pretty. But the whole thing is locked safely inside the cabinet, and 5 year old is told to play the game that's in there, or get an adult. Not very kid friendly at all, I'm afraid.

No idea if that one has Scart, it's not the one I have. Mine is sold only in a Euope and it features scart inputs, it is a CRT TV but has a flat screen; the one in the link looks like it's convex.
Any TV that has a SCART input on it will be 220V only and will request a step up transformer in the description.
Any 110V compatible TV's will not have SCART on it.
You know, why can't Matsu import a dozen Sony's from Japan that have RGB inputs. He imports cabs already, putting a few TV's in there isn't going to break the damn bank.

Unfortunately Japanese Scart is wired differently which means you couldn't use European Scart cables for your consoles (or you'd have to resolder each one). Must have been some genius who decided to adopt Scart plugs from Europe and then change the pin assignment... wtf.
So you might as well import a European JVC capable of both NTSC and PAL + a voltage converter.
I already have all the 21pin RGB cables from Japan for -
PS1/2
Dreamcast
Genesis 2
Super Nintendo
Sega Saturn.
So I just need the TV and the special converter.
Importing 1 TV would be $300+ from Europe not including the cost of the thing itself.. Matsu could get 20+ TV's in with his cabs no problem with relatively no extra cost at all. The voltage would be the same and cables are not hard to find at all. I'm sure matsu could get the cables.
I'm sure if a bulk order was put in place something could be sorted out.

richie:
Almost no TV's have 21-pin SCART. Many Wega's do have AV-Multi though, which is RGB. You can buy converters for about 2500 yen from the admin of RGB Hospice.
I would go in on some w/ you easily, but finding a carrier that will send a TV, and only a TV is hard. They usually break the maximum weight barrier by a good 10-20 pounds. I actually found someone on YJ that sold TVs and said they WOULD ship them abroad (from Hokkaido) if they could send them by Japan Post. 25" and up can't be sent by them though.

No voltage converter needed. I guess if you're really anal about it, an extra $40 wouldn't hurt, but I've got tons of Japanese products that I've been using in America for 2 years now, w/ no hassle. 1 of them being a 32" Plasma.
