Hikoza's New Game

Post by dynagod »

The latest release from Mr. Warning Forever, RAY-HOUND is an action game which requires no shooting from the player’s part. Trapped in a room with enemies consisting of turrets, you can retaliate by clicking on the left mouse button to muster a shield and send their shots back at them. The other method is to move your ship towards the lasers rapidly to initiate a boost and repel the beams of destruction.

In the options menu, it is possible to adjust and increase the chances of boosting with quick mouse movements by lowering the figure. Press F11 or use the ALT and enter key combination to play in full screen mode.

A timer is always counting down, but you can increase it by destroying all enemies to complete the level. The gameplay system is pretty offbeat, since it can be rather hard to direct shots unless the player is adept at slinging projectiles.

lots of fun once you get the hang of the controls.

Also, jerking your mouse will make a shield appear in front of your ship, automatically bouncing lasers back in the direction your ship is facing. You get fewer points for this (100 points vs 300 for capturing and throwing the lasers).

This game is going to produce some beautiful replays, once the feature is implemented.

I like the game idea, but I hope some changes are made (I don't believe this is a final version anyway, so I'm not too worried) since it's a bit too easy in my opinion. I do like that the timer doesn't go over 300, though.

I like Ray-Hound's sexy stylized fonts...who did them?

I like the sexy font style that was used to create the stylized fonts shown for the Ray-Hound main title screen. The reddish neon glow really does accentuate the cool look of this very stylized font. ^_~

BTW, who did create the custom fonts used in this Ray-Hound demo PC shmup game?

I enjoy making up some cool new font styles by freehand and changing it to see if it can be improved upon. Very important skill to have if you do custom artwork by freehand, especially sci-fi or anime mecha inspired artwork. ^_~
