Which shmups have seizur-tastic techno music?
I know some shmups have great pumping techno, like the Raiden Fighters series and Battle Garrega's "Stab and Stomp!"
Shmups: It's all about blowing stuff up!

If you're looking for obscure dancefloor-style trance in a shmup, I would also listen to Tempest 2000/X3, IS: Internal Section, Novastorm (PC CDROM version), and Chaos Field. Also try a few tracks on Nanotek Warrior and The Reap. (Would also mention the classic N2O: Nitrous Oxide here, but it doesn't strictly count since the music is licensed.)

Do the PC and PS1 version of Novastorm have the same music? If so, the PS1 version may be easier (and cheaper?) to find.Thunder Force wrote:If you're looking for obscure dancefloor-style trance in a shmup, I would also listen to Tempest 2000/X3, IS: Internal Section, Novastorm (PC CDROM version), and Chaos Field. It's been many years since I had them, but iirc the PS1 version was a completely remade game (for the worse, except improved video compression) with different stages and soundtrack. The Coop wrote:Do the PC and PS1 version of Novastorm have the same music? This topic again?
Apidya has some great Techno tunes, but just in one world.
Zed Blade / Operation Ragnarok is ass-kicking throughout. Recommended. (by me.)

pysvariar medium unit & psyvariar revision have extremely pretty music, much better than psyvariar 2, imo. both cames come bundled together on psyvariar complete edition which also had a limited run which contained the fabulous OST.
the only annoying thing about the ingame music of psyvariar complete edition is that they songs are longer than the stages are long and concidering the fact that they are real songs (not background music) you will missout on quite a beautiful piece of music if you don't pause the game and let the music play on. or listen to the ost ofcourse.
like NTSC-J said already the soundtrack of ESPgaluda I & II is pretty awesome aswell. same goes for mushihimesama and ibara, though they are less techno-ish.

Taito G-Card of Psyvariar Revision is ace w/ BGM tunes...
On the arcade motherboard of Taito G-net, the Taito/Success released G-Card cartridge version Psyvariar Revision is an awesome techno music treat with music from from "Odeo 808" and few other Japanese music artists.
I like how one can adjust the "L & R" sound adjustments on a Taito G-Net mobo...it handles stereo sound output with a pair of speakers rated up to 100w at 8 ohms max. And no "hot" MOSFET chips on it when using speakers at the highest range stated in the previous statement. ^_~
