Bah, Metal Slug died with nr 3, the new team just doesn't have what it takes to make the sequels anything more than amateuristic efforts at best.
And Metal Slug 3D: Worst idiea ever! Didn't they learn anything from the PS1 Contra games?!

I'm definately ordering from yesasia! Prey that we get red blood option in the port. :D
LOL. That guy's using a LOT of continues.

I'm very pleased to see that it still has that hand drawn Neo Geo look despite the 3D effects.

The graphics are pretty ugly, but I like MS6. It's got a little more to the gameplay and is quite hard. I won't pay full price for it, but it's not a bad game by any stretch.

I will point out that the 'donkey with the carriage'-slug is the most cumbersome slug ever. Avoid it if you wanna live.

Hey Kaneda, how many buttons does the game use? I read something about some new function.. (and how are they laid out on an actual cabinet..)

I just need to know so I can sort out my joystick situation.

There's the shot, jump, grenade and a button for switching between weapons. You can hold between two different guns at a time.

Can anyone that still cares about this series tell me if the character sprites were updated w/ the backgrounds? Last I checked, the backgrounds were high res. If SNK follows in their shitty footsteps of their fighting games, that means they likely left the charater/vehicle sprites low res... fucking idiots.

So on a typical cabinet, would these be laid out 4+0, 3+1, or 2+2?

haha...what do you think? Of course they're the same sprites, silly.

Recycled too many times.

I have 1,2,X and 3 on MVS. That more slug action than I will ever need.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

I live in a fantasy world at work, where it made sense to ask that really dumb question.

Wow, the graphics are fugly. I know, I know, gameplay is what's most important but this is a big step backwards for the series. Going from beautifully hand drawn backgrounds to blurry 3D CG is like eating a bowl full of shit. The sprites are still hand drawn (mostly the same old sprites), which is a blessing and a curse at the same time. They still look terrific but contrast really badly with the CG backgrounds.

Gameplay impressions later. Need sleep.

Bumping a very old thread...

I'm looking to get this version of Metal Slug 6.

What is the verdict on this particular port? Better than the Metal Slug Anthology port I would assume.
