Another AZ Newbie
Greetings all! I'm Kevin from Phoenix and 29 years of age. So far I know Greg, Undamned, Jon and Lou from game meetings. I was introduced to the wonderful world of shmups through Greg. Some of the games I own and frequently play include Capcom Collection (1942, 1943, and 1943 Kai), Strikers 1945 1 and 2, Galaga, Galaga Arrangement, Layer Section, Gradius V and Castle Shikigami. Then I have been making weekly trips to the arcade to play Raiden Fighters and Aero Fighters. I've also played some others at people's houses but have forgotten the names. Anyway I own a PS2, Genesis and Saturn so if you have any suggestions for good games let me know.

Welcome Kevin!
BTW, Lou's name on here is ncc1701p and is mainly only here on the trading forum.
I think we're due for another AZ Shmupmeet sometime soon. It's been a year since the last one. I'd volunteer to have it at my house, but I don't have any cool arcade cabs so maybe my house is boring...

So you live in the Valley too?howmuchkeefe wrote:Welcome!
Man, there's a lot of people here from the valley. Ha, I've got a coworker who likes these games and a friend who owns Ikaruga... maybe we can take over this here board! You know, use it as a front to run drugs and weapons across the border.

Undamned is the leading English-speaking expert on the consolized UD-CPS2 because he's the one who made it.

Yah, live in Glendale.
I've got my computer and my PS2s, pretty much. I play my PS2 games on a 19" NTSC-NA TV/VCR combo (which can apparently be TATEd without catching fire), in all their interlaced glory. No cabs.
Such as it is, I'd be up for meet, especially with 2+ weelks of advance warning. I can bring my TV and my PS2s, at least.

Whereabout in Glendale? I'm up by 43rd Ave and Union Hills. KJS, UD and I live within just a few miles of each other. Oh yeah, and I also go KJS into MST3K too. "How much Keefe is in this movie?" "Miles O'Keefe!" "I'm HUGE!"howmuchkeefe wrote:Yah, live in Glendale.

51st Ave and Northern. Just down the street, pretty much.
That's just the line that got me to sit through the first episode of MST3K I ever saw. It always brightens my day when I meet other MST3K fans!
My brother and his fiancee also like the show... while I have a decent number of the Rhino releases, I think I'll need a TV converter in order to do something like throw a themed MST3K party (Gamera, secret agent, Hercules, cheesecake, etc.).

EDIT - also, my girlfriend worked at that Wal-Mart up until a month and a half ago in the photo lab and i worked at Lowe's. We were only there this time for about 5 months. We lived in Scottsdale last year and now we're back. We moved back here right after the fire - which was apparently set off by those shooter guys.

Yeah, that was weird stuff. The day they were caught, when you googled "Dale Hausner", one of the first results was his boxing photography website, pretty much an ad for his photography business. He did "Weddings", "Birthday Parties" and "Headshots" (no shit).
There's pictures of him standing next to De LaHoya and Bernard Hopkins and the like.
Creepy how normal a rabid dog can appear to be. I hope they're put down.
Glad it's over, my brother lives with his family on the lower reaches of the square described by the location of the shootings.
