Sound is completely FUBAR and the video is off more than the other two.

that blows.... i played raiden fighters 2 in the arcade today and it rocks. me and a bubby went threw the 2nd loop also. it has good music also

1 and Jet work great - the sound's supposed to be a bit off, but are pretty much perfect otherwise. RF2 too, but due to incorrect dumps the sound's a bit fucked.

There's always the 2000 edition you can try in the meantime, which has all extra ships unlocked and complete sound - that is, emulated, but the game itself has inferior sound due to cost-cutting measures (being intended for markets with less purchasing power)

and can anyone tell me the best way to save scores in mame (if there is one)?

Grab the latest unoffical highscore.dat and drop it in your mame directory.

They wont even load past the counter screen wehn its at 000, how very annoying...

Once that happens you need to reset the game (F3, or ESC and load it back up again).

Some versions also need a dispswitch set (access the dipswitch menu by pressing TAB).

so raiden fighters 2 does not work 100 percent and it's the sound that is flawed. that blows... the music is great... at least in the game it is.

i was really shocked at how much I enjoyed the game.
