Ahhh, didn't try that. I ended up downloading the AVI. Incredible play Icarus. Nice job!

You are so close to the 2-ALL. I think there is a $100 bounty on it over at MARP. Check the 'Board' link at the top. You'd need to record with WolfMame.

Edit: my bad, it's a $50 bounty.

Just a quick heads up. All my past replays have been mirrored at http://www.super-play-co.uk so you can now access them directly from there. New footage will continue to be posted on the tracker first and then mirrored via yousendit and super-play.co.uk at a later date, to help ease the load on their servers.

You can access my list here:
http://www.super-play.co.uk/index.php?c ... layerid=25

As for new footage, I have a Gradius 1st loop No Miss and a play to stage 2-7, for 739,900pts (my smeet score). If anyone's interested, I'll make that available. I also have a Garegga kusoplay, Bornnam 9.84mil, if that's wanted.

More stuff to come.

Yes. RIP fw.net ;_;

I have little to no interest in maintaining the site now, so I've closed it indefinitely. All ST related images will be shifted to an alternate host (either my online portfolio host or elsewhere).

Dunno if this helps, but I tossed up some of Icaruses replays on my personal site. This includes his DDP:DOJ Hyperless replays and his entire ESPGaluda replay. I've got the bandwidth for now, and thought they were all remarkable vids. SO....for now, you can find them here:

http://www.slateman.net/video/

Would be glad to host more stuff if it's relevant and good. Lemme know of any suggestions!

But...sorry to hear that about FW. I always quite liked it. Would help out in hosting other stuff if ppl would like.

FW.net is dead (for now) but its spirit lives on in the replays. ^_-

A new release for everyone, made public at request: an Ibara Arrange Mode ALL replay. Scored 92.5mil for this one, even though it could have been much higher, but it's something I can come back to and improve.

Player: Icarus // Ibara Arrange ALL, 92.5mil, Bond (Type D) (XVID - 292MB)

Image Image

The replay is up on YouSendIt and is available for seven days (their usual hosting time length). It will be mirrored at super-play.co.uk permanently at a later date, depending on if I can break the 100mil barrier within the next week. ^_-

Enjoy the replay!

Disregard the last post. ^_^

Player: Icarus // Ibara Arrange ALL, 133.3mil, Bond (Type D) (XVID - 301MB)
- YouSendIt Mirror
- super-play.co.uk Mirror

Image Image

This is my last entry for Arrange Mode for now. Made a few mistakes, but still managed to pass my target score, so I am happy with progress for now.

Enjoy the replay!

A new replay has been made available, for Darius Gaiden.

Player: Icarus // Darius Gaiden ALL, Zone V route, 10.5mil (DIVX - 175MB)
- YouSendIt Mirror
- Super-Play.co.uk Mirror

This is a no-miss, one-bomb ALL. I took the stage route ABDGLQV which I find to be quite decent scoring. There's at least 1.4mil left to get in my run, by retaining that used bomb, capturing the last three Captains, and milking particuar bosses.

As I am aware, the only language remotely similar to Finnish is Hungarian and vice versa. However, it's very limited as to how related they are, they are rather distant.

Actually Finnish sounds a lot like Japanese, phonetlically speaking. A lot of people, for example, still think that Nokia is a Japanese company, because the name sounds Japanese.

At any rate, thanks for that new video, Icarus! Darius Gaiden rocks! :D I can't wait for Taito Legends 2 (if we ever actually get it over here.)

Languages can sound or 'appear' to be similar but more often than not (excluding the Latin derivatives) they are not. I believe it's been established that Japanese and Finnish bear no derivative whatsoever, comparative to what I stated whereas Hungarian and Finnish are similar in the respect they share similar linguistic/gramatical properties which again isn't that similar but it's closer than any other given language. :roll:

I never said that they had the same origins, I know that, only that they sound similar.

At any rate, I just asked on the Empire forusm if we are ever going to get Taito Legends 2 over here. I did also email Sega again, but, in the past, they have said that they have no plans to publish this title.

You emailed Sega about Taito Legends 2 coming out? How does that work... :?

Either way you could always buy the PC release from Europe, a la no region lock. Probably the best quality too.

Today they just sent me back an auto-reply, but I responded by saying that they hadn't answered my question.

At any rate, ace work, Icarus! Just got done watching the Darius Gaiden videoi, and it was very impressive and entertaining! :D

Sega published the first volume in North America (or at least the US...)

Well, back on topic; Icarus, did were you playing the Saturn port of Darius Gaiden, or the arcade? I don't suppose it matters, but I've played the Saturn port, and I cannot remember rapid fire like that. Maybe I just didn't use it, or something.

Using MAME, with autofire enabled. The Saturn port has a code that enables autofire as well.

Conducting a little bit of an experiment right now, in the form of reviving featheredwings.net using Youtube's streaming video setup. Obviously the video quality will be much, much lower than what I usually release, but at least there's a somewhat permanent place to put some replays up on. ^_-

My G-Darius 21.8mil Zone Lambda ALL is currently up on YouTube... well, the first four stages at least (Lambda is being upped as I type this). You can find my account link here:

http://www.youtube.com/user/IcarusFW

Older full-length replays are available at super-play.co.uk, and my profile link is here:

http://super-play.co.uk/index.php?content=2&playerid=25

I'll still release full-length good-quality replays, but for now, stage-by-stage replays can go up on YouTube.

Yay for Flash-based, super-compressed streaming video. ^_^;;

Awesome G-Darius skills Icarus. Can I ask what version you are playing? I've been having a blast with the game on Taito Legends 2, PAL, running at 60hz, and it seems like it's going about twice the speed of your videos!

Well, maybe not that much faster, but I never miss the oportunity to make excuses for my lack of skills.

PSX version. Haven't picked up Taito Memories 2 yet, as I'm skint. -_-;;
I'll be straight on to the much higher scoring Omicron route once I acquire a copy (probably the Taito Best edition).

Supposedly the "happy" endings are in the topmost and bottommost routes.

For those that might have missed it, I've upped a selection of Batrider Advanced Course demonstrations on YouTube, all clearances of stage 1 to 7 including the last boss Discharge. Video is typically blurry FLV, so apologies in advance. I'm debating on uploading the replay of my current ALL Clear record at the moment as I want to try and improve it, but for now, you can check out my strategies on the 'Tube.

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p ... 185036D1DE

I'll have a selection of clips from the extra bosses coming soon. Still trying to find the best encoding settings for non-blurry video. -_-;;

@Twiddle:
You still want to see the ending to G-Darius Lambda route? I can up the ending sequence in high quality somewhere for you.

It is done. Note that the PSX version of the intro and epilogues are in FMV, while the arcade and PS2 versions are in real-time rendering. This was on the PSX ver, so it'll look a liitle odd. ^_-
