Vulkanon

Post by Nullsleep »

Some may remember the thread about the very nice BulletGBA a while back on here.

Well the author - Takayama Fumihiko - just released a new mini-game called Vulkanon that is worth checking out.

I did a little write-up on it hereas well.

Nice, I want to give those a spin. Which is the most popular/recommended GBA flash cart?

I really love Kenta Cho's shmups and this seems the closest thing I can get on an affordable mobile device. So yeah, thanks for the link, Nullsleep.
I got some questions though, did anybody managed to run this on a Nintendo DS? How does it work and what flash cart would you recommend? Any links to some howto-guide or something? I'm seriously thinking of buying a DS to play homebrew stuff like this. Hell, there's even a Nethack version for it...

bulletgba is hard on the ds as the ds doesn't rotate well.

Agreed -- but a gb micro plus a flash cart loaded up with BulletGBA,
Vulkanon, and PocketNES with Recca (among others) adds up to shmup
heaven in my pocket.

Dylan1CC, I've got a 512mbit X-Rom myself -- borrowing from a friend
actually. I bought my brother a Flash2Advance Ultra for his birthday awhile
back which he seems happy with. And there are also the Supercard
cartridges now that take SD memory, which seems pretty nice.
