eventually their will be a fully working mod for it like all previous systems.

off topic: is anyone here picking up Shutokou battle X for the 360? iv'e been a fan of the addictive series tokyo extreme racer throughout the dreamcast and ps2. I't looks pretty sweet so far, these are like the only two games i am willing to buy for a 360.

After you defeat his 1st form (which is rather large), you have to fight a smaller 2nd boss that looks similar to the players' ships. He deals so much damage and interrupts your attacks with his massive amounts of bullets (it is the same on Very Hard as it is on Very Easy, just had to check). Any ideas?
No idea, as I've met this boss only once in Score Attack mode. You're talking about the one where it shoots out a huge purple Beta Beam and then starts rotating around the screen, right?
I'm also stuck on the Story Mode boss. :(

I want to unlock all the achievments with every character, but what can one do if you can't even do it with your best character.

Yes, that's the one (you also can't go into Boss mode with this guy). What have you done to combat this menace? I know there has to some trick to it. I play with Ernula and the only attack that hurts it is my secondary Beam Attack, but it does barely any damage in it's second form. Just can't figure it out...

It might be worth sending an email to Sega (USA and Europe) considering they published the game in Japan.

With a bit of luck they might bring it over for a western release /strawclutching

I don't know. I've only fought it twice, the first time with Changpo, and the second with Lili. I'm more concerned with unlocking stuff than beating it at the moment.

Also, is there Senko no Ronde themes or other extras only found on the Japanese side of Xbox Live? I was going to look myself, but I'm too paranoid about BS-ing my way through the registration process.

Yeah, region lock out piss me off too. SUPPOSEDLY the PS3 will be region-free; even with PS2 and PS1 games, but I'm not holding my breath. And, in any case, the price won't drop to a reasonable level for a few years.

I don't suppose that anyone would be willing to put up some videos of Senko on the Super Play site?

I already own a PAL 360.

I ended up buying a JPN 360 purely to play this game.

Am I insane? Tell me I did the right thing, considering i'm quite a fan of G-Rev's previous work, aswell as quite a Virtual-On fan.

If you're playing the game a lot, (like I did by already spending 10+ hours into it in the past three days) then it's well worth it. Besdies, the Asian versions 360 titles are compatible with JPN models and usually have an English track in it (since it seems to be the last region to get the game) as well as being at least 20 dollars cheaper than getting it from Japan or the US.

Give me a video capture device and I'll do it. :)

One gripe I do have with this game is that you can't save replays of matches. I've been spoiled by the doujin community (well, PC games in general, as RTS games do this too), it seems.

That's interesting. Are there any good videos of this game on the net?

What are you unlocking? Since I can't beat the boss I can unlock the character art/models for getting to the final boss in Score Attack. That and the 1 hour/10 hour acheivments. In the latest issue of Famitsu it mentioned downloading new costumes from Xbox live, but when you go to played games and select SnR it shows no downloads available at this point in time. Hopefully soon...

That's odd. For me, if I die at the last boss for score attack, it just ends right there and model information for that character is unlocked. :?

No way are you crazy dude! I can vouch for myself and at least one other on this thread that it's not crazy to plunk down the big bucks just to play one game (hmm, well at least it's hardcore, and that's always good in my book :) ).

To dai jou bu:

Yes, unlocking the ship art is something I've figured out how to do, but the character art and others I have yet to do. Do you get the character art by beating the game? ARGH!!

Well I finally beat the boss. You have to rush the boss right from the start and extensively use your sub weapon and regular shot up close and wear away his health bar quick. The next part of the boss stage use your shield and attack as needed until his patterns change up, after that point just dodge bullets and go at it like you usually would. Included with the character images is a screenshot of the secret costume!

YOU crazy bastard! Congrats on that. It's gonna still take some serious attempts with Ernula's ship, being bigger and slower than your character. There is much to discuss, and I think you know what I mean...

I'm loving this, but does anyone got a decent grasp of the game-system yet at all?

I haven't figured out the benefits of the Overdrive function nor how to use the Barrier properly.

It wasn't THAT BAD. It's basically what Resoglas just said. Find a way to damage the first form as fast as possible so you have enough health to endure the 2nd form. What I did with Ernula was go to the bottom-right corner and spam her E. Laser until the first form went down, which left me with about 4/5 health remaining.

For the second form, you just have to get used to the bullet patterns. That's all I can say. Also, Ernula's movement speed is actually a good thing. The slower ship in Mars Matrix was stated to have more maneuverability than the the faster one :).

I believe that secret costume is just the one used for version SP. :?

It said in an issue of famistu that you'd be able to download new costumes via Xbox Live. It's probably the same new costumes as SP.

Grev says the second shipment of RevX have all been sold to game shops and they will not be printing any more, so it looks like once the copies in the stores are sold out, this game is officially OOP. I might have to pick up a copy just in case I want to play it some day (even though I don't really like the game).

Also, they say Senko no Ronde SP will finally be released in the arcades next week.

I love ncsx and i know they're reliable but they charge a bit more than play-asia for the 360. Shipping is slightly more expensive at P-A thought, but it still more expensive at ncsx.
However, if you live in the US, you will not need to worry about import duties with NCSX. They may be a little more expensive, but their service is absolutely great! If you are interested in saving a few bucks on shipping, just request to have it sent USPS instead of UPS. Believe it or not, they'll do it.
one day shipping for me for regular UPS. well worth it. NCSX, i love you

YES!! It actually wasn't that bad! It only took me a couple of tries and I nailed it. What I did to accomplish this was actually just dodge bullets the whole time. Ernula's slower speed helped a lot with this. And BTW, I use the second ship in Mars Matrix. It's a good ship!

I'm having trouble beating the boss with Culian, I can't seem to find an attack that destroys the first-form quick enough!

With Ernula though, I stayed dead-centre and used the concentrated main and sub weapon (holding barrier). Went down quickly doing that and lost a minute bit of health too!
