I could probably make it on either day. Are you thinking of a themed meet or just random shmups bonanza?

Well we've already done the Cave, Raizing, and Psikyo themed meets so far, and I don't have enough of any other company to make a whole theme, so probably will be a mix of some Seibu, Kaneko, and any other popular ones people want to play. I'm open to suggestions.

I've never been to one of your meets so I don't know how the "themes" work, but I would love you forever if you just have some Cave stuff and Dimahoo out to play. Hopefully I'll have my Esp Ra. De., Dangun Feveron, and TNMT II in the mail by the time of the meet so I can bring those over if you don't already have them.

Set a date, Dave, and I will make the time.

I liked it better as a "random shmup bonanza" since it was more fun, and we were able to try out and play lots of diverse games. I think we should focus more on the fun aspect of these meets, rather than trying to make this into some bootcamp to train ourselves to better the Japanese.

Of course, if you catch somebody credit feeding, then you should cut off one of their fingers with a cigar cutter.

And yes...Ketsui. You only have to mention one game, Dave, and it is Ketsui.

I think can actually make this one. :D Would anyone be willing to pick me up from BART? I don't trust my car to make it down there. There will be gas money rewarded.

:) Ketsui will definately be running this time around.

I'm picking Saturday 7/29 as the official date, but be warned I may cancel if it moves up to 100 degrees here. I have no A/C and if the garage overheats, I have no way to cool it down, and the games will start to fail operating under those conditions (they have before). I'll confirm the date/times as we get closer to the end of month.

I'm interested and will await more info as it gets closer to the date. Please be kind, though as I am a definite noob.

Can you also have Mushi running too, thanks. Hopefully it won't be too hot in San Jose.

Ok things have cooled down considerably this week, and its looking like it should be around 80 degrees this Saturday, so its back on for those that can still make it 7/29.

I won't post the lineup as it doesn't matter much outside Ketsui running the entire time. Feel free to PM me with PCB's you might be able to bring and I'll let you know if I already have them or not.

I hope you guys have fun!

Since Bernard can't make it, I guess I'll be the only one there at 10 o'clock sharp.

I was looking forward to seeing Bernard play DDP too. Dave, I expect good runs from you. :)

Oooh I can't wait to play Ketsui

I'll try to be there at 10am but I don't know cause my body clock is so screwed up right now (been going to bed around 5am the past month, lol). I definitely want to get as much gaming in as possible :D

The shmupmeet just ended. It was a much smaller meet, due to my freaking out from the heat last week and canceling prematurely. I promise I'll make it up to you guys that couldn't make it.

Thanks go out to Lousig for lugging his Saturn with 12" monitor down from SF, to IlMrm for donating the latest Arcadia magazine for the competition prize, to Rastan78 for brining his Raiden Fighters 2 PCB, and to Segasonicfan for bringing his Dangun PCB.

"Of Course" Segasonicfan won the Dangun head-to-head competition to collect the most disco men in stage 1. :D

The shmup meet was Fantastic

(to say the least)

Dave is one of the nicest guys I've met in a long time. He swapped so many boards for me to try out and was super accommodating :D I had just a complete blast all the way through. and I'm so glad I made myself wake up early enough to get a full meet in.

Here's some pics I took and a funny video of Ketsui where I'm talking to Dave....and guess what Dave, I now have the high score for level 1 on shmups.com for the hidden character!! 455 was the high, remember the 466 I got? You're my witness 8)

Thanks again for having me over Dave, it was great. I'll have to plan a trip back up here for the next meet 8)
