Hi

Post by Belmont »

Hello everyone, im new to this forum but i figured i should post something to introduce myself. Hopefully you will be seeing a lot more of me. I have been playing/collecting shmups for over a year now but just recently got back into playing them again. (Due to the fact that my AWSOME wife just got me radiant silvergun for my B-day) Anyways i started lurking around the site again mostly for your great reviews and decided i should join the forum... so yea i hope that i can learn a lot from you guys(such as what shmups to buy etc) I own a saturn (capable of playing imports) a dreamcast, ps2, gamecube, xbox, Genesis, toploader nes (again my awsome wife to thank for that one) n64 and a snes. Im currently looking into getting a pc engine system but am not exactly sure wich to get. Any advice on this would also help me out.

Welcome, Belmont! Sounds like you have a wonderful wife, there. A wife that puts the time and effort into getting you RS is definitely a keeper!

You will not regret getting either a PC-Engine or Turbografx 16 system. Either system gives you a great amount of shmups to play. The PC-Engine will have a few more shmups to choose from. The Turbo Duo will open up the floodgates with the CD titles! The choice is up to you on what you want to invest in.

Welcome!

And you do have an excellent wife!

EDIT- There are swap magic discs for the ps2, but an import is best. I imagine your wife will be planning one for your christmas though

Hear hear!

Anyways, welcome, if any vampires decide to invade the forum we'll know who to call. ;)

As for the PS2, there are mods and swap discs available, but as was said, just getting an import system is probably easiest, especially if you also want to play PS1 imports (saves you from having to buy/mod/etc. anything PS1-related, for all but a few games, anyways).
