I think I like Zanac best on the NES, but I have not played Crisis Force or Recca. I don't even know how to play Famicom games.Ceph wrote: Aside from short breaks for Gun Nac and Crisis Force, Recca has been in my Famicom's slot non-stop since I got it a few months ago. It's really fantastic. Probably the most impressive 8-bit home system game I have ever played.
Which system has the best shooters?

In the case of the SNES I know how to play SFC games on it. Can you do the same with FC games or do you need a Famicom?Turrican wrote:excuse meprofessor ganson wrote: I don't even know how to play Famicom games.![]()
what does that mean prof? You either: 1) plug your cart in your famicom or 2) load your rom with an emulator. Where's the prob?

I don't think you necessarily need a Famicom - perhaps you can find a converter on ebay. Although they are rare. But yeah, the pin size is different, so you need an adaptor/converter.professor ganson wrote:In the case of the SNES I know how to play SFC games on it. For me the Sega Saturn has the best shmups.
I like arcade ports and the Japanese list is endless.
I also like the overall quality of the 32bit shmups.
The only problem is the price they ask for some Saturn shmups.(the best on the system are 2 expensive)
I start collecting shmups for 3 months now and need to stop for some time......i'm almost broke.

Wait a minute, is Brazil still considered third world? I thought that its economy was the stronger in all the Latin America. Were you into Mercosur from the start?

AFAIK you need a Famicom or NES, the SNES/SFC is not compatible with it. It's a totally different architecture and it's not designed to play the old games.professor ganson wrote:In the case of the SNES I know how to play SFC games on it. Thanks, yeah, that was my question. I guess one would need to import a Famicom or get one of those Famiclones. Probably not worth it for me now, as there are only one or two games that interest me.BulletMagnet wrote:I think what he meant was "is the method for playing Famicom games on an NES the same as it is for playing Super Famicom games on an SNES, or something different?"
