Raiden - A ton of homeports on most systems, but "Raiden Project" for Playstation is the only one one really needs to bother with
Raiden II - Also a perfect port on "Raiden Project"
Raiden DX - A remixed version of Raiden II, with a scoring system and some other tweaks. Generally considered the best Raiden of the original series.
Good review here: http://users.pandora.be/twin-dreams/PSo ... en_DX.html
Raiden III - well, you know about that one
The other Seibu stuff like Raiden Fighters series or Viper Phase One has not been ported, but they're emulated nicely in MAME.

Speaking of Raiden Fighters in MAME, mine won't work. Do I have to do anything with the ROMs besides dropping the zipped file into the Roms folder? Is there some other file I need to download or tweak to get them to work? The original Raiden works fine, but I can't get any of the other games in the series to work.

Does Raiden on the PSone have proper rapid fire? Not just the really slow and pointless one on the coin op.
"When we were talking to one of the executives at the BBC. And he said, 'Now hold on, this man is so incompetent why wouldn't he be fired?' and I said 'Go and take a look around this building. Just go and knock on a few doors.'" - Ricky Gervais

It's actually a pretty good port/version. I would still go with Raiden Project though, since it is still way better AND cheaper.BeauZilla 002 wrote:So hows Super Raiden for the PC Engine?I'm getting a Duo soon & was wondering about this one...
Save the cash on Super Raiden, and get some PC-Engine-exclusive shooter like Spriggan instead, that would be my advice.

Raiden II was also ported to the PC (which works out nicely since MAME's emulation of it isn't perfect). It's easily found on most Abandonware sites (like Home of the Underdogs), but the copies you find are usually lacking music. There's usually a few legit copies floating around on eBay for only a few bucks though!

ePSXe will play the PS1 Raiden D/X perfectly (and IIRC, Raiden Project).ASK wrote:Raiden II was also ported to the PC (which works out nicely since MAME's emulation of it isn't perfect). When initializing SPI games in MAME, the counter seems to run down faster if you're also maxing out the frameskip to 11 while the throttle is off.
Kinect? KIN NOT.
