I wasn't aware that you came out of the woodwork, but then again I haven't been active in this forum for years other than to submit scores.
Good to know that you're back, I only found because people told me 'did you know jonny5 is back and hosting again?'.
Unfortunately I was actually hosting myself (although to a much smaller group).

Re: jonny5 meet - The Returnining July 18th or 19th?
If you are hosting anything let me know, I’d love to come out and wow you guys with my gaming prowess.
I know it’s been a few years, you guys have probably forgotten how good I was

Ugh, was messaging back and forth with homie in Sarnia I sold one of the NAC’s and Deathsmiles to. He was going to sell it back to me…for what he paid me 8 years ago
But then he told his kid and apparently they lost it, seems they like the cab and ‘it’s always been there’ /facepalm
So he is keeping it for now. Probably for the best, the missus was less than enthused

Nah this is salvageable... You just need to adopt the kid!

The missus will happily drive 5+ hours to go paddling, but much less interested in driving 5+ hrs each way to get me an arcade machine. Especially when ‘I already have one’…/looks at pile of canoes outside

Yes, it'd sure be nice to add an extra handy companion candy cab next to your Sega Astro City cab, jonny5. Two candy cabs side-by-side for twice as much fun indeed -- doesn't the wife see the added benefits of having two candy cabs on-hand? One set up for tate-based jamma pcbs & the other one set up for yoko-based jamma pcbs. Easy as pie.
Or skip the second candy cab and go with a supergun setup + an ample-sized 19" or 20" Sony PVM RGB monitor and you're good to go in that respective department.

She’s not the ‘look at things from someone else’s perspective’ kind of person
I’ve been with her for like 27 years, she’s always been ‘quirky’
She has multiple boats ‘because they are for different things’. Because arcade machines are outside of her interests it doesn’t matter if one is for vertical and one for horizontal, ‘it’s just two of the same machine. You can’t even play two machines at the same time.’ /facepalm
She doesn’t seem to understand the same point could be made with her boats or any of her other hobbies that fill my basement.
Oh well, I don’t let these things bother me
some people just lack self awareness
In all fairness, flash back 15 years to our place on Queen and she totally lived in an arcade for several years. We had 2x NAC’s, 2x Versus City’s, a Neo Geo Big Red and a Crazy Taxi standup. This was a studio apartment, all one big room
