That's a really sweet first score to submit here! Congrats!squidhead wrote:SQUIDHEAD - 2,361,580 - ALL - Lloyd - PCB

lmao. beautiful, thanks for that.AlphaDog wrote:You said your thing i said mine.
It is what it is.

A score so good it's worth two entires on the leaderboard. Congrats!
Thank you! I managed a decent increase on my PB just now:

I was wondering about that myself, here's what I found in the FAQ section:
I contacted Icarus and asked him if I can post images directly. Until he answers, I'll post my scores as you did:If the administrator has allowed attachments, you may be able to upload the image to the board. Otherwise, you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. http://www.example.com/my-picture.gif.
Well, since the answer to my question may take a little while, I decided to post my score as fellow member squidhead did. Pretty simple.Keith Spader wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 9:59 amI contacted Icarus and asked him if I can post images directly.

I can confirm the scoring differences, though my observations differ. I did notice the difference between the original arcade game and both versions on the Saturn. Already in the first stage, you will get 2,000 points more in the original AC game and this continues through most of the other stages. What causes it? Some enemies have their point revenues removed. It's relatively easy to notice in the 3rd stage, where you won't get any points, neither in the arcade port, nor the Saturn mode on the Saturn for this enemy here...ThunderForce 222 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2024 10:05 am Also, after careful scrutiny of both versions, it seems there is a scoring difference between the arcade and the Sega Saturn version. It seems that the arcade is probably about 200,000 points higher somewhere in there it's doesn't go by the same scoring Parameters as the Sega Saturn arrange mode.

It's perfect. Thanks a lot!

Good news everyone! Finally reached that goal I mentioned above. It was a nearly perfect run, minus two little flaws: one in stage 2, where I shot the shafts too soon and another in stage 3, where I missed to get all of the debris. Ah well, this is still a great score and will be hard to beat, unless someone comes with a better stage 5 pattern, than those Japanese players I copied it from. I hope this will eventually happen, but until then it's...Keith Spader wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 2:43 pm My next goal is to achieve a better score in this mode on default difficulty. Somewhere around 2.63 million are possible, but it's easier said, than done.

It's been done before. You're right about Nightmare, though.ThunderForce 222 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2026 6:15 pm And keeping your helpers after every boss is not even an option. You're not gonna keep em after boss 2
Keith Spader wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 2:43 pm Here's my entry for Saturn's Arranged Mode on "Very Hard". I lost one gem from the 63 I could get in stage 5 and all 3 extends during the last fight. Still, I did manage to save all three robots in stage 2, which makes it almost even. Anyway, you don't play on this difficulty level for score, it's very annoying.
My points right after the Black Angel destruction:
On this difficulty level you'll get a nice additional graphic of your mecha during the ending sequence:
Unfortunately, there's no separate score list for "Very Hard" or any other difficulty level, like for example in "Einhänder". So, as you can see, all difficulties mix together on a single score list.

...whereas you'll get them in the original arcade game. Why? My guess is, that due to the limited time of only, IIRC, four months, both Saturn versions are bugged. The difference throughout all the stages sums up to about 20,000 points between the original arcade game and the arcade port on the Saturn and not 200,000. Further, according to my observations, there's no difference in scoring between the Saturn Mode and the Arcade port on the Saturn, apart of course of the fact, that you can't shoot down the rockets of the 3rd stage guardian for points in the former, which seems to have been removed intentionally in order to make the game more difficult and yeah, it works.
Fortunately these S-mines...
...which the last guardian, the brain-washed Black Angel uses are still giving a lot of points on both Saturn versions, as they do in the original arcade game. A great milking source!
ThunderForce 222, are you sure of your 200,000 points estimation? My scores differ about 20,000 between the Arcade port and Saturn Mode. Anyway, congrats on your achievement on Very Hard. I will have to try a run on this difficulty, yet.
WHAT?! Those cluster bomblets give you massive points? Holy Sheep shit! I had no idea.....I've got work to do then.....I am MR MILK
