Yes, Hudson Soft did release a Gunhed "Special Version" Hu-Card for the Caravan competitions in Japan -- of course, it was never released in the USA. here's one listed for sale: https://www.ebay.com/itm/176599814837?_ ... R-q5-9zTZw

Hudson Soft also released Soldier Blade "Special Version" Hu-Card as well.

And here's a Hudson Soft Final Soldier "Special Version" Hu-Card: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304951750658?_ ... R7LKnd3TZw

The homebrew release of the Sega Genesis stg of "Omega Blast" is a Caravan based stg circa 2018 -- it's been released as a dedicated physical Sega Genesis homebrew cart through the Etsy.com website in the past. Or just play the Omega Blast rom on either a KriKzz Mega Everdrive Pro or Mega Everdrive X7 flashcart setup would be your best bet nowadays.

Here's an older Shmups thread hailing from 2008 discussing Caravan-based stgs: viewtopic.php?t=20173

The recent released Switch stg of Terarin's "Blaze of Storm" has a 5 minute Caravan mode worth taking a spin indeed.

That oder thread has some good information, even though it doesn't seem to include the PC game Super Star Shooter, of which two distinct versions exist. Or maybe I've overlooked it somehow.

For the Sega Master System, there's also Flight Of Pigarus, made by …me, which also got a physical release, although I think it's sold out now and no additional copies will be made.

Bullet Soul (both the original and Infinite Burst) have a 2 minute Caravan mode.

Trouble Witches (in ports preceding NEO and later...) include a 2 minute and a 5 minute Score Attack mode.

Most CAVE games from the X360 era and their ports to current gen also include a Score Attack mode, but its just mostly the entire main game under one credit with no continues.

There might be more, but these are the ones I know that have these kinds of modes.

NMK's Super Dimension Fortress Macross II. (1993, Arcade, also on PS4 & Switch via Arcade Archives) Rare example of a dedicated coinop time attack. You technically can't die, but getting hit will reset your power level and medal chain. Getting punted offscreen will waste time atop that. Bad news, since you progress by hitting each stage's score quota. Rad game! Even got a Western ACA release, since the OVA it's based on isn't subject to Harmony Gold's usual licensing buggery.

Further to Arcade entries, there's also Dangun Feveron's hidden Time Attack mode. Insert credit and hold [shot] + [bomb] before pressing start. Does what it says on the tin. State of the art waveshredder with added Caravan tricks. Has PS4 & Xbox One ports via M2 ShotTriggers.

The new HABiT games for NES/Famicom are excellent - particularly the collection and the mashup they did with Xelan Force.

They have a ebay store if your not in Japan.

Yes. Gunstream Challenge Version for Game Gear is a fun one too.

Difficult to buy now, but also just remembered Caravan Boomer for MSX2 exists. Really good FM tunes by some of the best Japanese composers of the arcade golden years.
