A random euro shmup kind of like raiden for ms dos

First one I actually remember was R type delta

Then ikaruga/radiant silvergun on xbla made me look deeper into the genre, and I found this forum and cave/raizing!

Xevious for Atari 7800

Got the 7800 and Xevious in '88 - was my first console and my first proper shmup.

Space Invaders Atari 2600.
Then a bit later Xenon 2 Megablast Sega Genesis

All good games that drove me, slowly, into the genre...

The first I remember noticing was the Lifeforce arcade. I was still too short to reach the controls without a step-up. I remember watching the attract mode scroll by, horrified but intrigued. Not sure if I actually played it then, was probably too freaked out.
