I love driving around East Anglia listening to the Final Fight Mega CD
Gotta be some of the best VGM ever composed, along with Batsugun and Super Metroid!

Re: Beat 'em Ups (Including Switch List)
I've now done a run through Rushing Beat X and Double Dragon Revive. Neither's very good.
I like RBX a little more, or at least I have lower standards for this series. Scattershot opinions:
* It's most heavily based on Brawl Brothers, and I say "Brawl Brothers" instead of the Japanese name because Bild is black. Fine by me. I started with Rival Turf back in the day so that's how I've always thought of him.
* As much as I'm a proponent of autofire for shooters, I don't like it for brawlers, and there isn't a way to disable it here.
* Weirdly, enemies mill around as if they're oblivious to the player.
* I can be a story nerd (as my posts over the years will attest) but my god, the story scenes here are long, and terrible. At stage 2 I restarted and switched to the mode that doesn't have any.
* I like the attack animations, especially for Bild and Kahlua.
* Maximizing damage should be thoughtful in a good brawler. It's a little to solved here, so I end up going through the same attack motions over and over.
* Characters say their move names and catchphrases ad nauseam. "THAT'S how it's done!" "THAT'S how it's done!" "THAT'S how it's done!"
* Food is stocked and can be used at will. There's an overcomplicated system where you can visit a food truck and buy better dishes, discounted the more ingredients you have, as well as weapons. It doesn't add any interesting wrinkles to gameplay.
I also gave Double Dragon Gaiden another play through since it got its last batch of characters. 24 total, one more than Double Dragon IV, which feels like it's gotta be deliberate.

Re: Beat 'em Ups (Including Switch List)
There's a toggle to increase the number of enemies, fwiw.
The toggles in TMNT:SR seemed partially like a way to patch in some big changes that should've been the way the game worked in the first place (like removing taunts). It still feels like that in Cosmic Invasion, even though the toggles were a day-one feature and not a later patch.
