I got a pretty low scoring Shooting Type TLB clear during the last Calice but switched to Buzz Type after a break. Thankfully, this feels a lot better & I got this PB yesterday even after not playing this last week.

Nice scores guys!

What a delight to have some more to post up on this thread. I was dabbling at the start of the Calice myself but had to drop everything for my all-consuming Sonic Wings 2 mania. Maybe I'll finally try buzz type in the new year...

Got a better TLB run, even though I made one mistake on the rings near the end which cost me at least 8 million.

Great improvement! I would have reset at that stupid death on stage 2
That was a great gluon phase 2 fight - I think if you wanted to push the score more you'd work on phase 1, and getting a little bit more ballsy with the stage 5 boss (I know, big talk from a guy like me).

That's what I thought at first, but everyone else playing buzz type basically said "Even the superplay dies on stage 2, dont worry about it" :)

I do think that gluon phase 1 would be the fastest way to get more points; its mostly just learning the timing of those red rings+spread attack he does in the middle of the phase that I need to lab out.

I get the feeling that the gauge management of the stage 5 boss can get pretty tricky from most of the other runs mostly focusing on speedkilling it, but maybe it's easier with practice.

Cool score, GG!

Yeah even if you ideally/optimally don't die at all, early game deaths are not as punishing score-wise as TLB stuff since the buzz chains aren't climbing as high and especially so if you aren't milking the bosses. Your st2 death only cost 500k, definitely a lot less than that TLB death.

Aside from that death, there was some pretty good neutrino management on those red rings! Also I think the bomb on the orange starfish pattern wasn't really necessary. In the worst case you can shoot a bit to get to the next level or if you're precise enough, stay in between two lanes all the way to the end but even that sounds not very likely to happen if you can somehow get closer to the boss while still trapped in between two lanes. But saving that bomb wasn't critical in the run anyways so maybe it was the best decision in the heat of the moment. :)

Figured I'd submit this since I broke 140 million, & fully milked Gluon for the first time in an actual run. I still haven't incorporated all of my new strategies so hopefully there'll be more to come....

Wow, congratulations on moving up a spot! You've really improved on this game over the last month or so.
