Here's the link to the newest Vectex stg title by the name of Vexxon, a vector take/spin on Sega's classic isometric arcade game of Zaxxon circa 1982: https://vectrex.substack.com/p/vexxon-is-go
Orders for Vexxon will open up shortly and the plan is for Vexxon to be distributed in early 2026 timeline. It's been said that Vexxon would not be possible on a standard Vectrex cart even with multi-bank switching capabilities but with the Arm-32 based Pitrex hardware setup, there's plenty of horsepower to spare with running Vexxon on a Vectrex console at a consistant silky-smooth 50Hz framerate + without any vector-based flickering issues to contend with whatsoever. The original Vectrex game creators/developers back in 1982 & 1983 could not have foreseen nor predicted the arrival of Vexxon on the Vectrex gaming platform in 2026 for sure as in this particular case/instance.
The boxed version of Vexxon includes an outer box, Vexxon cart, instruction manual & full-color screen overlay that's been created by Stephen Gros with an isometric layout/asethetic. It seems that Vexxon is the newest Vectrex "killer app" worthy of owning/playing on your beloved Vectrex console indeed in the upcoming 2026 timeline. Vexxon was first bandied around back in 2022 on the Vectrex and has now become a full-blown Vectrex homebrew release.
With a Pitrex setup, it's quite awesome to be able to play the classic Atari arcade vector games of Tempest from 1981 and Star Wars from 1983 on a Vectrex nowadays.
